My main issue with Greedfall was that since I'm a bit of a completionist, there was a huge amount of running back & forth over large distances to finish every single quest. There was that aspect in Technomancer as well but since I liked the sci-fi environments more, it didn't frustrate me as much.

Quoting: furaxhornyxI loved Greedfall, and I have been thinking several times about getting Technomancer... Makes me want again to consider buying it :smile:If you liked Greedfall then you'll probably enjoy most other rpgs from "Spiders", Technomancer included.

This week I finished "Technomancer" and just today I finished "Cloudpunk". Technomancer was pretty good, I enjoyed it more than Greedfall and I wouldn't mind a sequel since the ending left quite a few unanswered questions. Cloudpunk was...okay, rather poor as far as gameplay was concerned but with nice environments and atmospheric.
Before that I finished "Yakuza 0", "Heavy Rain", "Disco Elysium" and "Ion Fury". So quite a lot of gaming this year.

Quoting: PhiladelphusFrom my point of view, I got the achievement—it's not my fault the game's bugged and doesn't recognize it. And while in a perfect world I would absolutely report these to developers, realistically some of these are never getting fixed. (Civ V, for instance, will never have its Linux port updated, and incidentally has a few such bugged achievements.) I only use it in cases where I absolutely, positively, and unambiguously met the requirements for getting an achievement, where it's 100% certain that it must be bugged (where people have sometimes even checked the code and seen that it's bugged). It definitely doesn't feel as good as seeing it pop up in-game, but at least I can finally rest easy knowing that I've got an accurate achievement completion percentage.Yeah, I can agree that is a fair way to use it. Personally, it's not that I think using it in such a way is wrong at all, it's more of an "uneasy gutfeeling" kind of thing. :S::wink:

I have to agree that this thing feels like a pure "cheating app", even if in most cases you'd just be cheating yourself out of the chanse of earning the achievments honestly.
Even using it to unlock achievments that simply failed to unlock due to a glitch...would still kind of feel like cheating to me.
Like competing in an athletics competition where you win the highjump, only for the whole competition to be canceled due to a fire or something, no medals for anyone. So when you get home you put it an order to the "trophy store" to have them engrave a medal for you, that you feel you did earn, even though technicaly the medal will always be a "fake" not a real one.
Well...that's just how I feel anyway, any kind of cheating has always been a "pet peeve" of mine. But to each their own.

Quoting: EikeAnybody knows why not V and VII? They only like even numbers? :DNot sure about "V" but in the case of "VII" there is already Exult that runs that game pretty well and improves on the original in many ways.

Great music and seems to have a really neat atmosphere. However, I'll hold off on buying and wait for a few more reviews about it's qualities as a point & click game bfore I decide.
If it can stand up to classic Lucasarts & Sierra games in the genré, then it's a must buy.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Technomancer works fine under lutris, I cant speak to spiders other games but for some reason technomancer clicked with me so i ve played through it a couple of times nowThanks! That's great to hear, I really liked 2 of their games and the latest one I played wasn't bad either. So, I'm moving "Technomancer" up to "Top 10" on my wishlist. That's together with titles like "Disco Elysium", "Dying Light 2", "Empire of Sin" and "Cyberpunk 2077", so it should be in fine company until I buy.

As for "Expeditions: Vikng",It runs great with proton but you must switch to "Proton-5.6-GE-2" for everything to work properly. The combat and camping mechanics are very similar. but there is also much more focus on resource gathering and building up strength & prosperity in your danish "home base".

Quoting: PatolaAh, another Spiders fan! Have you played Technomancer to compare?Sorry to say, I haven't played "Technomancer" yet. I've had it on my wishlist forever but first I was hoping for a native linux port and then proton arrived and I almost forgot about it in the flood of new gaming possibilities. I will get around to it in time without question.
Does it run well on Proton? I have not finished Expeditions: Conquistador yet... How do the two compare?

Recently, I've played through in order:
"Black Mesa", a wonderful return to HalfLife and a worthy conclusion with the new Xen level.
"GreedFall", I think this is the most successfull game by "Spiders", so I found it somewhat ironic that I thought it was much less fun to play than both "Mars: War Logs" and "Bound by Blood".
"Resident Evil 2 (remake)", Nice gameplay/puzzles and beautiful, though a little on the short side.
"Resident Evil 7" Great horror game, I think this is the closest I've ever felt to being stuck inside a 70s-80s horror flick (The Hills have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw etc. etc.)
"Fahrenheit: Remastered". I finally got around to finishing this great old gem (again), now if only "Heavy Rain" would be released on steam....
Currently I'm playing through Expeditions: Viking which seems pretty good this far (20 hrs in) and Remember Me, which is much better than I expected, though the combat mechanics took some getting used to.

Played through Kingdom Come: Deliverance sometime around christmas/new year, wonderful game that made it impossible for me to play "ordinary" rpgs for a little while afterwards, I wish there were a ton of similar rpgs focused on realism and historical or contemporary accuracy.
After that I went through Wolfenstein II: The New Collossus, a decent shooter but it felt pretty bleak compare to New Order/Old Blood.
Then I played through Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, both were decently good but not quite up to the level of the original.
Currently I'm playing Fallout 4 and have finished it with one faction but plan to do the rest as well. This was a little better than expected, not nearly the quality of New Vegas but still a game worth playing.
In other words, lots of "Proton Activity" in my gaming, I think the last native game I played was Shadow of the Tomb Raider back in November.
