My First Hours With A Steam Controller

So it works without Big Picture, but not really all that well, I understand. I really hope this is something Valve will change as mao_zhe_dun says.
As it is now the Steam Controller is of little interest to me, as I already have an Xbox 360 controller which works perfectly with almost every game I care to use it on. Desktop games I already play on the desktop anyway, hence the multi monitor setup.

Quoting: CybolicWell that's a bummer! In that case I'm not really sure that I want to get a Steam Controller, unless they fix it so that the Steam window and Big Picture can run on different screens.Quoting: Stupendous ManOne question: do you need to launch the games from Big Picture for the controller to work, or only for the initial setup? I have an issue with Big Picture and multiple monitors, in that I cannot configure Big Picture to run on a different monitor than the main Steam window.Unfortunately, yes.

It would be interesting to know the sales statistics of this game. Looking at the Steam store page there are only 2 reviews and the forum doesn't have a lot of activity, so I doubt it has sold that many copies. But just imagine if the developer could break even with Linux sales only (I highly doubt he could get a profit).
Liam, could you not send the developer an email and ask if he would disclose some sales numbers? Since this is the only Linux exclusive game we have it would be really interesting to know how well it does (if at all).

Cities: Skylines - After Dark Patch & Expansion Released, Some Initial Thoughts

I guess I'll continue holding out on buying this game.

Quoting: lucifertdarkI agree. I would expect at least 30+ fps for any kind of game to be playable. Certainly, any FPS should run at 60+ to be smooth, and I can accept slower paced games to run at less fps, but why don't the developers investigate why their game suddenly runs worse at release? As usual, we Linux users are 3rd rate customers, and that saddens me; I don't expect them to drop everything in their hands to solve this, but the game has been out for what? 6 months?Quoting: liamdaweIt is not a rumour, i had pre-release access and reported on it directly. Performance is still an issue, but it's not like it's a first person shooter, it's not a game breaking issue.Sorry but yes it is a game breaking issue, just because it's not an FPS doesn't mean it's suddenly ok for it to run like it's been dunked in custard.
I guess I'll continue holding out on buying this game.

I've held out on buying this game because so many people are reporting performance issues on Linux, which never seems to be fixed; has it become any better now?
According to rumours the performance was much better during beta, and suddenly went down close to release. The developers don't seem to know why...

I'm looking forward to trying this game, though I have to be honest and say I won't get it unless it's at least 50% off; 55€ is just too expensive for a video game in my opinion. Maybe Steam sales have spoilt me, but living and working in Spain doesn't really allow me to buy games at 50€+.
Some devs like Croteam know this and have tier-2 Euro prices which are more than fair, I wish more devs and publishers would learn this.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Free Weekend & XCOM 2 Available For Pre-Order For Day-1 Release

I would never preorder it, but if it gets good reviews after release I'll most likely buy it then.
I've only ever preordered games twice: first with Europa Universalist 4 before I knew any better (I wasn't burned though, it was a great game), then with The Talos Principle after I'd tried the demo and it was confirmed to be a day 1 Linux release. I just don't see any point in preordering these days with all the overhyped crap coming out.

Strange, I just got the "unachievable" achievement without doing anything special (as far as I know...). According to google, either you have to fiddle with the console to get it, or it's completely random - probably the last.
The FPS is locked at 30fps for me both with and without buffering. Is anyone else experiencing this?
