The Stanley Parable Released For Linux, You Will Play It, You Won’t Play it

Yay, finally! I've had this game in my library since forever. I can't even remember why and when I bought it, seeing as it wasn't available on Linux.

Quoting: FiskekutterenIf I am on a VPN when I start the game through Steam it crashes after displaying the initial screen ("Company of Heroes 2"). Am I the only one experiencing this?
No, I have the same issue and started and thread about it on Steam. I've also emailed the devs about it as they said they wanted to look into it. Just disable the VPN before starting the game and it should start fine, or connect to the VPN directly on your router if it allows it. By the way, which distro are you using?

@leillo1975, sorry, I don't know what else to try :-(

It seems to be complaining about the gameoverlayrenderer.so. Have you tried disabling the Steam overlay in the Steam launch options for the game?
Alternatively, you might want to reinstall Steam itself and see if that helps.

I started playing the campaign a bit and quickly got sucked in - long story short, I went and bought the game anyway.
Also, I hardly saw any difference in fps with the graphics settings on high compared to low, I still get 25-30 fps which is actually perfectly playable. Maybe it will struggle a bit in larger battles but so far it runs OK.

I'm getting 20-25 fps on all low (textures "higher" ) with an i3 at 3,30GHz and a factory overclocked nVidia GTX660 with 2GB VRAM. I'm sorry, but that's just too low, and I can't get myself to buy this game. I know my PC is rather old and not the fastest one around, but this is the only game of the over 80 games I have in my inventory which performs so poorly, and it's not even a particularly good-looking game.
The last game I bought, Shadow Warrior, runs at a solid 60 fps on highest graphics!
Sure, CoH2 game might be playable at 25 fps, but I had expected to be able to run at least medium settings with 30+ fps on this hardware. CoH1 ran a lot better for me in Wine (40+ fps on an older graphics card and high settings).

Quoting: KeyrockI've hears so many good things about this series. If only I wasn't complete and utter rubbish at RTSs. Oh well.
You and me both! I'm really missing a pause button in these games so that I can think and give orders at my leisure.

I played CoH 1 a bit back when I still used wine, and found it an ok fun game (meaning, not my favourite game but still good). I might buy this one, as the sale is pretty cheap, and I haven't supported Feral since X-Com.

Thanks, in that case I'll hold out on buying the expansion and continue my game until I get closer to the end, which may well be months from now at my current pace.

Yeah, I have a similar question: I bought PoE a few months back and played till the first major city. Should I buy this new DLC and restart (I haven't played for a couple months and wouldn't mind restarting), or just continue my adventure and buy the DLC whenever I get close to the end? Will I miss out on anything not having the DLC yet?
I'm not particularly bothered about the party AI as is, for me the games plays just fine and I prefer taking direct control of all my characters anyway. So except for the expanded story, what does the DLC bring?

What Have You Been Playing Recently, And What Do You Think About It?

I almost only play Kerbal Space Program these days. It's summer here with daytime temperatures up around 40C, so I don't play much at all, but when I do, it's KSP.
The Talos Principle is my favourite game ever, and I also bought and played the DLC when it came out.
I also bought Pillars of Eternity in spring and started playing it, and liked it very much. I'm about 20 hours in and mean to continue it when autumn arrives and I can sit huddled around the PC for warmth.
On top of that, I've bought so many games at sales that I've hardly touched. Maybe this winter I can start looking at some of them... Or I might just continue playing KSP!
