Steam and other stores will really have to step up their game on indicating AI generated content in games. I know Steam have their disclaimer, but it seems we will quickly need a way to filter this out.
It's not really different from the asset flips we've been plagued with, but this one is likely to produce a lot more slop, way faster. Filtering that out entirely seems like the only option for people that cares about it.

NVIDIA DLSS support in progress for NVK, the open source Vulkan driver for NVIDIA GPUs

Hm. I must be missing something here.
I tried nouveau with my 3080Ti, and got around 10fps in DRG (and yes, I checked that it was actually in use). Switched back to nvidia-open (yes, I know, "open"…), got back to 120fps (limited in-game to that).
I'm sure some people will enjoy the availability of DLSS, and it sounds like a fun thing to do from a technical perspective, but unless I'm missing something *huge*, having decent baseline performances sounds more important than that for large scale usage.

Steam Link VR now available for PICO and HTC headsets, plus Valve confirm experimental Linux support

It's nice that they're increasing support for more autonomous headset.
I have a use case that unfortunately is really niche (in the VR space, which is already a niche I suppose…). I'd like to use my "main" computer to run VR games, and use them with a VR headset connected on another computer. The point being, I have some HTC gear (Cosmos + wireless kit) that *only* works on windows, and my main gaming system is not running windows anymore.
I thought I could do something with Steam Link between Steam on two computer, but alas, VR is not officially supported in that case. Maybe some day.

I wonder if this project would have had an easier time if they got some code/documentation/hints from the original dev to work.
…this is sarcasm, obviously. It would have been easier. Publishing specs/protocols for this kind of service should be the bare minimum mandatory thing to do at closing time, and I hope the stop killing game initiative move toward this direction. I understand that publishing actual server software and so on might be problematic (licensing, IP protection, etc.) but unlocking clients and providing some docs? Come on. Even if it's an horrible mess (as any project documentation should be hehe), if there's a passionate community around, they'll handle it.

There's no complaining for extra free content, especially if it's that substantial. And I'll gladly dive back into this chill, nice game.
Still, I miss the time where games were a complete product on release. On one hand we get more content (yay), on the other hand I had moved to other things, and, sure, this one is nice, but… I don't know. I like finite things sometimes.

It's nice to see more linux support. It'd be even better if it was possible to run the game in single player with having to install some anti-cheat solution, though. I've skipped a lot of game because of this specific point.
I know I'm a dying breed at this point, but I just want to enjoy either single player games, or play with a limited circle of friends. And neither of those warrants installing anything as intrusive as privileged, calling home solutions of any kind.

Oh, Sacred 2 uh?
This one is a little weird. When I found out about that game (on Steam), it turned to be… interesting looking, but with a lot of broken mechanics that didn't go anywhere or simply missed reasons to exist, broken interface, broken world map issues, broken dialogues, broken animations… lots of broken stuff. All I've seen from the design to some of the gameplay elements made me want to play it, but apparently, broken was the operative keyword and it was just gonna stay this way.
I'm sort of hyped by this; I'm sure there's a nice game under all that, and it would be great to be able to experience it.

Add a rule to filter out messages/mails/discussions with AUR/Arch. Problem solved.
Ok, that's the nuclear option. But People putting their time and effort in a project should not be responsible for other actions. It might not be the best way, but both the license and the discussions make it sounds like the main point is "don't bother me with your custom stuff", which sounds reasonable to me.

I get the point of anti-cheats. I don't necessarily agree, but I get it.
I really wish more devs made it possible to disable them. Just, run the game without it, connect to servers that don't care (or even better, provide a way to run private servers). This way, friends and the like can enjoy the game however they want, without disturbing the "protected" players. Kinda like ladder and non ladder in Diablo, if I recall (it's been a while).
It was a thing "back then". I kinda miss that. Now it's all tightly locked down, no trust, no private servers, and you're treated like a criminal by default, in addition to making some games inaccessible to a slew of people that are not ready to trade privacy for *paid* entertainment.
Also, kudos for embracing, even if only slightly, open source propositions. Everyone wins when everyone uses opensource (and the maintainer is not a benevolent dictator haha).

Valve gets pressured by payment processors with a new rule for game devs and various adult games removed

Not so hot take: video games, as fiction material, should not be censored. Payment processors should not have a say in any of it. We're all grown up here, and buy what we want.
I don't particularly care for *that* list of games, but that's no excuse to remove them. If I don't want something, I don't get it; if I want something, I get it. It's not the place of any interfering busybody to decide what I can and cannot enjoy in my leisure time. This is obviously the first step in the way of locking everything down to what a handful of bigots are graceful enough to allow others to enjoy.
