Monster Hunter Wilds is set for some big performance upgrades

Quoting: scaineI've got the first Monster Hunter (Worlds?) which was fun, and was looking forward to Wilds, but you know how I feel about Denuvo. No interest. I think there's a third one too, right? Rise?

If they keep sticking that shitty anti-consumer BS on their games, I'll keep not buying them.
actually worlds was more like the 5th ( mainline entry) and rise was sorta a side game the way generations was after 4 with wilds essentially being 6 ,... but i agree the presence of denuvo is why i don't buy most games i don't need that crap on something i paid for making things worse ,.. thats apart from the obvious issues this game had optimization-wise added on top . hopefully they'll eventually remove it like they sometimes do and clean up performance tho i wouldn't be surprised if thats not till a yr or so after a major expansion like they usually have.

Playnite may get a Linux version during 2026 as the creator plans a move to Linux

used to use playnight while i was in windows, it was great honestly and i missed it when i first came over ... while we have similar things over here like lutris and heroic playnight doesn't just pull other launchers into it you can also do achievement stuff with plugins and such , its pretty nice so this will be a welcome addition if they get alot of it going.

ChimeraOS dev announced Kazeta, a new Linux OS aimed at recreating a classic console experience

i shared this to my gaming buddies after i stumbled on the reddit post announcing it .. its a neat project in concept and i Like the concept but its not for me. i still prefer physical media but i move so often it doesn't make sense . and even if i were willing to buy a bunch of SD cards and essentially burn the games to them like CDs back in the day how many ppl are going to know how to do that that didn't grow up knowing how and if you don't like digital store fronts in the first place where you getting the games less you have old media your converting? ,... just seems very niche even if neat

Valheim: Call To Arms major update announced with new combat mechanics and lots of new items

update sounds solid , tho i haven't touched it since it first launched on early access and i don't plan to till its 1.0 or at least they finish their intended biomes that were on time initial roadmap. my fiance has been eagerly awaiting for it cause i won't play it with him till its 'done' lol. what was there was solid but i rather focus on finished things these days

Valve gets pressured by payment processors with a new rule for game devs and various adult games removed

while those being hit aren't the style of eroge i'm into by any means payment processors really shouldn't have any say on what ppl are buying or storefronts are selling . this type of censorship is ridiculous

Proton Experimental updated to fix the Epic Games Store and a few games

Steam now has a UI scaling slider and accessibility menu on desktop

honestly as someone on a 55inch 4k tv next to their bed the scaling for steam has never been exactly as i'd prefer so thing seems like a nice option being added
