Endless Legend Linux Port Started Months Ago, Looked Good

Truth is they have a lot of technical issues under Windows, especially on AMD cards. My 64 bit exe keeps crashing all the time, so I was forced to downgrade to the beta 32 bit in order to play, which as you might imagine means worse performance. And speaking of performance - the game is badly optimised. And I do mean - BAD. I have an MSI 290x and the thing has trouble providing consistent 60fps even on Beautiful (no AA), let alone Fantastic settings. I know its a 4X game so it doesn't really make much of a difference but still it shows bad optimisation. So, I don't think EL will get a Linux version any time soon. Obviously fixing the Windows/MAC is a priority (which is understandable).

PS Don't get me wrong - if you have Windows on your system you should totally get that game, like immediately - it is truly amazing. It is probably one of the best turn based strategies this side of Heroes III. But it still needs some fixing.
Ugh. Heroes of Might and Magic III is my favourite game of all time. You saying that just makes me want Endless Legend even more. Still, I will not buy Windows again just to play Endless Legend, and I have enough games to play as is currently. I can wait, especially with Age of Wonders III on the horizon.
Yeah, I just got Age of Wonders III last week for like 4 bucks or something but I still haven't gotten around to really playing it. It does feel more Heroes than the previous one, but I'd seriously prefer if they just dumped all the city building/diplomacy aspects. It just never felt quite right with this game (but it does in EL).

Steam Client Beta Add FPS Counter

Yup, beta only. But it's nice to see Linux finally getting a proper FPS counter. Tried it in Borderlands 2 - got sub 30fps on 290x - yay :D

New EU Tax Rule Could Ruin A Lot Of Indie Developers

I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree with the author. While it's an obvious inconvenience for the small developers this is a matter that goes way beyond gaming and aims to solve a much more important problem. You know how big companies operating in the states sell their production in America but pay taxes elsewhere? That hurts the national budget. So it does in Europe. Getting this rule means more fair taxation could be in place and more money would go to public services like health care and eduction or even subsidies for small, medium and large businesses. As much as I feel for indie developers this is one of these cases where the need of the many outweigh the need of the few. Plus, I'm sure they'll find a way. Worst case scenario - they'll use Skrill and PayPal for checkout and let them handle at least part of the administrative bullcrap.

Europa Universalis IV: Art Of War, Biggest Expansion To EU IV Yet, Released

I've yet to play properly CKII: Charlemagne but this is also on the agenda, probably for December(ish). Hopefully Paradox would have cleared any major bugs by then. Unfortunately their expansions tend to be somewhat broken on release - Charlemagne was just another confirmation of that.
