Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition patch out now for Linux
12 Mar 2016 at 8:49 am UTC

Judging by the comments here, it seems the Linux version is stable enough for me to start the game. I was a bit hesitant when the first official Linux version came out and kept waiting for a new patch to land and fix any bugs..

I guess it's time then ;)

Want to see the very popular Stardew Valley on Linux? There's a chance

I really wish this game would come to Linux, my family (especially my Mom) played the PS1 version of Harvest Moon for over 9 years. For me this is also the kind of game I'd want to play after a long day out.

I didn't know they were working on a Linux release, and now I'm glad to see they're pushing for it. Will have my money ready when it's done.

GOG officially offering Early Access games, three have Linux versions right now
28 Jan 2016 at 7:49 pm UTC

Quoting: GuestI'm already not really interested by early access games, but without the Galaxy client... How do they handle updates? Incremental patches?
When a new game version is available, GOG puts both a new full version and a smaller patch for those with bandwidth constraints.

I personally prefer downloading the new full version every time, my laptop more often than not is without internet so I find it handy.

Steam now has over 1800 games available for SteamOS & Linux

I remember when I was dabbling with Linux in the mid 2000's and the only games I had were Loki's ports and other id Software games. Unity has changed many things in the Linux gaming world, giving devs the tools to work with is probably the biggest encouragement they can get.

However there's one thing with those 1,800 games: Quantity over Quality, and I'd rather have it the other way around. Regardless of that it's still great news.

Slightly off topic: It doesn't have an official announcement on GOL yet but the newly released "A boy and his blob" is an awesome game, and runs well in Linux (even on Intel HD Graphics).

Oculus Rift VR headset will support Linux after release, looking like it's going to be pricey
9 Jan 2016 at 2:37 am UTC

I'm glad Linux support is still on their minds, it's still too pricey for me to buy it without tending to other things but I'll definitely consider it in the future. Also, for the past 11 years I've wanted to play Morrowind as if I was inside the game. I've held onto that dream all this time and finally I can say it's almost true.

As for the Time Doctor blog post, I agree with Beamboom, even if one has a family he/she should still be able to find free time for their hobbies. I think the biggest challenge this can be to a family is the steep selling price itself, not everyone can throw 600$ for a pair of goggles.

Hand of Fate is a brilliant game, you should really give it a go on Linux & SteamOS

Issues
It turns out SSAO and Anti-aliasing are broken for me, as it suddenly makes the battle area really dark. I asked Samsai to test on AMD, and he didn't have the issue so it's possibly it's an Nvidia driver bug, or a bug in how the developers are doing it.
Was hoping they fixed that by now, apparently not yet. I bought this game on release, it can be really addictive and fun.

Chaos Reborn & Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition now DRM free for Linux on GOG

Quoting: etamFirst review under Chaos reborn by Triggerhappy938:
"Not a bad game, NOT DRM Free
Game requires registering a code with their servers. Not a dealbreaker for me, but wish I had known ahead of time. Worries me what other DRM might slip onto GOG in the future."
Yep, those kind of comments tend to arise on GOG from time to time, most likely the key activation is for Multiplayer access (if it were any different there would be tons of complaints by now). Some people expect Multiplayer to work without any protection, if that happened god knows how many pirates would play Multiplayer without buying. As a DRM-Free only gamer I think this is both fine and fair.
