Same as the way Desura does it though? It's just my personal preference.
Will be interesting to see then if it will run on my intel HD4000 (the best intel does at the moment their latest generation) since my nvidia chip is inaccessable right now.

Well Valve Timing is an issue but considering they have said that the major features of steam already work it's pretty much polishing on the Steam client they are doing right now, so the end of 2012 seems like quite an achievable goal especially when you look at the people's experience that they have hired recently.
Very very exciting time to be a Linux user right now, giving me the kick I needed to really try to get my optimus nvidia chip to work, thankfully it's getting there thanks to nvidias latest beta driver.

Well this put a smile on my face, they must be quite far along now if they are officially announcing it.
Steam thankfully does have an offline mode. You need to buy and activate online but since steam is an online distribution it doesn't bother me, that and I have a good few friends on it is a bonus for me to be online anyway.

Quoting: "Qantourisc, post: 4938, member: 181"This implies Valve may be using Linux. This does not imply they will support it :)
It is interesting to know though.
