The reason I feel it is confirmation is the fact that he has emailed me to say yes it is coming and yes it will be before the end of the year and now on video he's talking Linux up, on podcasts he says about working with a Linux team....I don't think I am doing guesswork here I feel that is confirmation...based on the fact he did confirm it directly to me.

I just can't see it being anything else. That said even though he emailed me to say it will be out before the year is up I don't know if it will we all known what valve and timing are like.

Originally it was let out by accident it seems, now it's in BETA and official....although still buggy.
