Run around a cyberpunk city as a lost cat in Stray - out now

Quoting: PhiladelphusUnfortunately it doesn't seem to transfer saves across devices, I was going to continue on my PC with graphics at max but only had the option to start a new game. Maybe I'll do it for a future replay.
It's supposed to, it had Steam Cloud support.

iFixit have the Steam Deck Fan in stock if you're in the U.S.

Quoting: rcritThe warning in the Valve teardown video of "here is is how you open it, now never do it" would give me pause unless the whining drove me absolutely nuts.
If you ever do...take the SD Card out first <_<

Steam Deck hits over 4,000 titles marked either Verified or Playable

Quoting: CatKiller
Quoting: GuestIt's currently sitting at 1850 verified and 2093 playable, for a total of 3943 games according to Valve's official numbers.

Where are you seeing "over 4000"?
Steam only lists games that are currently available to buy. SteamDB (and the verification process) shows games that are on Steam even if you can no longer buy them.
Bingo, this exactly.

Edit: the official Steam store list also doesn't even work correctly, when sorting by date of the compatibility note it's a mixture of both old a new so it's not overly helpful.

Devs are discovering the Steam Deck is good for making games too

People dismissing it definitely miss the point. Hook up a cheap bluetooth keyboard + mouse, plug into a monitor and it's a pretty good PC, and more powerful than the PC I already know some developers make their games with. It's about what you have and can access, just like how a RaspberryPi is the only PC some people have.

Deck video is up now because I couldn't resist, article updated.

Quoting: fenglengshunHi, while this is quite interesting, perhaps for the next lists we could also add a column for their ProtonDB rating? As someone who can't purchase the Deck, it would still be nice to keep track a comparison of the Deck Verification ratings and the ProtonDB ratings.
On it. Edit: done.

LEGO: At the Movies Bundle has some great picks for you

Quoting: BeamboomThe two LEGO Marvel Super Heroes games are really good. They are fully open world cities once you're past the opening missions. An enormous amount of stuff to do.

they are like GTA for kids with superpowers thrown in. 😊
Sold.

You should avoid the stock Firefox install on Steam Deck as it's badly outdated (updated)

Quoting: Liam Daweit's in their development repos rather than a release is what I gather you're saying.
No, it is released. There are three release branches you can choose from the UI: stable, beta and main, and Firefox isn't there on main at least since the last release on 2022-06-29. Repos are another matter, there are already some updates there that haven't been included in any released image yet.
Where are you seeing that? The Deck UI only gives me Stable and Beta across both of my units. This is the first I've heard of a "main" branch and Valve has certainly never mentioned it.
With developer mode enabled, you can enable "show advanced update channels" in the developer mode menu.
Right, so not something the majority of people will be doing, gotcha.

Quoting: dosThe latest SteamOS doesn't install Firefox by default for a few days now, the change just hasn't reached beta branch yet (it's only on main).
It's still included in the stable branch.
As I said, it's only been changed on main branch, so not on beta nor stable yet - but the change was already made about a week ago nevertheless, so it's now just a matter of time until it reaches other branches.
I think your wording is perhaps where the confusion is from :), it's in their development repos rather than a release is what I gather you're saying.
