In game chat stopped you playing a game ? I mean you enabled it, so presumably you could disable it and you thought it was cool prior to enabling the chat also.

Of course it's your choice, but missing out on an entire gaming experience because of [going to assume it's an 'ism thing] when you have the option to just not enable the text seems like your the one who is suffering. How many games are you going to read stuff you don't like in ? Eventually if it's online almost all of them which means no or minimal online gaming for you i guess.
Don't get me wrong i respect that you stuck to your values [a rare quality]. A long while ago i decided to refund a game in a similar manner although for me the game had forced ON voice chat and pretty much minimum 32 - 64 players screaming at each other every round.. but if it was just a text box i could disable then i would not of done it. Most games you can't even disable the text chat so with war thunder you have even more options than 90% of other online games.

Each to their own.

To keep it short:
Before reading the chat I thought we were all having fun.
After reading the chat I realized that everybody was hating everyone else, including the members of their own team.
I tried to continue with the chat disabled, but the fun wasn't there anymore.

Sounds like what happened with me and Dota 2. Such a shame, loved the gameplay but talking is part of it and people are just terrible.

The issue of games not loading appears to be solved. Been doing some continued testing for MSFT and the latest checks went through fine.

After some more fun investigating, the Steam Deck preset definitely doesn't work right. By itself, it sets High+Ultra but it's more than that.

Going from Medium to Steam Deck and running the benchmark, it gave a higher performance than my video.

Reloading the game, it then says it's preset to Ultra. So I set it to Steam Deck again and run benchmark to see really low performance. Then I set it to Low, go back to the menu, then back in and set again to Steam Deck and run then benchmark again, and it's the best performance I've seen yet.

Cyberpunk seems to grab onto what preset you had last for Steam Deck, and any restart when you've set to Steam Deck seems to jack it back up to Ultra. So, the Steam Deck preset is definitely broken which is why other videos may show a different performance or visuals.

Low: 46.31 average FPS
Swapping Low to Steam Deck: 46.26 average FPS

High: 28.39 average FPS
Swapping High to Steam Deck: 28.11 average FPS

Go back to even just the menu after setting Steam Deck, then back into the benchmark: 22.07 average FPS

Yeah, something funky is going on there, as comparing the video shows the quality doesn't match, at all.
(right video is GOL)

Yeah, even with FSR on, their video shows lighting and textures at a much lower quality level for sure. So either way, something in Cyberpunk is not correctly setting things.

There is absolutely no way with those graphical settings (high/ultra) that video is correct. Lots of the preset options don't take effect until you restart the game I've found. The Deck simply cannot handle those settings. Edit: they have FSR on and set to Balanced too, so I tried that as well and nope - performance not close to that video.

Maybe the ultimate solution would for GoL to stop promoting GoG. I know it's kind of a hard thing to do devs still offer Linux builds on GoG after all. But to me, it feels like less and less Linux users want to hear about and buy from them. So what's the point?

Many Linux users buy from GOG, our partner stats show it clearly. Don't confuse a loud minority who bring all this up every time there's a GOG post with what people actually do.

I'm facepalming so hard because I purchased it just to do this, even though I have EA Play. Can't refund, as Valve already sent me one of those naughty-naughty you're refunding too much emails <_<. Unlike other titles, it doesn't have the Play with EA Play banner on the store page.

I list the Flatpak as it's the only official cross-distro solution used by the developer. Simple as that. I shall continue to link to Flathub / Flatpak whenever it's available because it works across any distribution AND Steam Deck too. You can argue about preferred packaging all you want, stick to whatever you like, this is the easiest for users so we don't have to list a million ways of installing things across many different distributions.
