Looks like the developer is listening and will be putting up a Beta.

The GOG Games Festival is live with new games and lots on sale

Quoting: holisticboyI noticed you can strip away the adtracker and the link works just fine (it has the full gog URL in it). @Liam Dawe is there still a way for us to give you the affiliate purchase with the adtracker removed? All good if not, just thought I'd check because I'd prefer to support the site!

Anyway, thanks for sharing the sale, some really awesome deals and games on this one!
Nope. Unless it goes through Adtraction first, it's not logged and we get nothing. Doesn't matter if you get the end-url from what it redirects to because Adtraction wouldn't have seen it.

GOG's original homebrew affiliate program is ending, every single site will be moving over to Adtraction. We're seeing plenty of people using our Adtraction links with monies coming in so it appears to work fine for most people.

Quoting: drlambThe game does not crash for me and I can confirm that the cursor issues I was having are resolved. I am using mesa-git however.
Oh that's good to know, so the next stable Mesa release should allow even more Linux users to enjoy it :)

Seems anytime people mention it not starting is AMD/Mesa. Hopefully the driver devs can find a fix since it works on Nvidia.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is out and works right away on Linux with Proton

Quoting: slaapliedjeHa, this still makes me think we should have a different section for 'Don't Buy, it doesn't work in Proton', as it's seriously getting to the point where there are less titles that don't work than there are ones that do.
We have to pick and choose what we cover really because we don't have enough funding to constantly buy games, and most AA/AAA ignore us completely so it's down to my own choices.

Quoting: t3gAre they looking to start charging for this game or will it remain free to play?
It's staying free to play.

Unreal Engine 4.27 is out now from Epic Games with plenty of Linux improvements

Quoting: jordicomaAnd what about unreal engine 5? What it's the linux state there? Hope they are good.
It already supports Linux, saw some of their team chatting on Twitter about SDL updates for it too including the possibility of some of their changes going upstream to SDL.

Quoting: gbudnyThe low sales of Quake 3 for Linux were the main reason that Loki was closed.
Not quite. It's true it didn't sell a whole lot but you're wrong on that being the reason. Loki was famously mismanaged, I do suggest reading up on it properly [External Link].

And as another said, part of the problem was their pricing much like LGP - their prices were far higher than the Windows versions. For some games they sold, like Quake 4, they shipped the Windows version with a Linux installer/binary at many times the cost of just getting the Windows version and downloading the Linux bit needed (which was free to do). Speaking from experience, as someone who was involved in it all back then.

Quoting: Liam DaweOkay fair enough, it's clearly problematic. Have removed the provided auto-linker for GOG and made our own using their properly branded domain which GOG was smart enough to make.
The link to Linux games only still goes through adtraction and does not show Linux games only... edit: or keep any filter, actually.
Have removed that link until some kinks with it are worked out. You will still see adtraction because they now run the GOG Affiliate program and we shall continue to use it. There's simply no other option now, all GOG Affiliates will be moved to it.

Anyway, if people have issues, use the forum with a dedicated topic - stop filling up comments with what's not related to the article subject please.
