Quoting: ZlopezIt's always nice to see when OS engine is maturing :-)

BTW the openXcom engine is for UFO: Enemy Unknown(1994) not XCOM: Enemy Unknown(2012). But it would be awesome to see open engine for something like the new XCOM.
You're right, the naming gets confusing as it was known as both UFO: Enemy Unknown and X-COM: UFO Defense and somewhere I mixed it up.

Quoting: PhlebiacLately I've found Unreal Engine games (this one and Supraland) to be rather crash-prone. Haven't experimented much yet, but I'm wondering if MangoHud might be conflicting somehow - I notice you don't have it active in your video.
No crash at all in my entire run.

Quoting: PatolaBought it when it launched. It worked through proton but had to have some workarounds. Now I installed from the Linux depot and it says "missing executable"...
Force the Steam Linux Runtime in the Steam Play settings. It's the container that then forces a Linux version download. Handy workaround when Linux builds get released to reset things.

Quoting: NezchanIf you're interested in categorizing the items in the bundle, I ran across this yesterday and it turned out to be tremendously useful. I simply had that open in a browser window and used the search on the Itch client to find and add everything I'm intereested in trying out to a collection, so I can install them at my leisure.

EVERSPACE 2 sure does look shiny in the new Alpha footage

Quoting: Alm888With news like this [External Link], I'll think about this game when I see a Linux release.

Sad, but inevitable in our age of broken Kickstarter promises.
I had to go back and look the info up on that, seems we covered it and they did mention Linux in Kickstarter comments. Still, we've had hundreds of games successfully delivered as a result of crowdfunding. No reason to expect Everspace 2 to drop it.

The idea is good, but from a quick look at the websites for "web monetazation" it seems like this isn't a industry wide initiative like this article makes it sound, but rather some obscure cryptocurrency linked project.

Maybe better promote Offset, which is also obscure, but 100% blockchain free:
https://www.offsetcredit.org/ [External Link]

Or GNU Taler: https://taler.net/ [External Link]
I don't see any reference to cryptocurrency or blockchain in their explainer: https://webmonetization.org/docs/explainer.html [External Link]

From what I understand, it is merely a way to standardize money transaction thanks to an API. FWIW, if this thing is officially standardized by the W3C, it could mean a better integration of Patreon, Librapay, etc..
It's clearly explained that it's not linked to any single currency, blockchain or anything. It would work with them, the same way it currently works with certain services that deal with "normal" currencies. Not sure as well why people think this is to do with crypto.

An open API for such a thing would be a good thing. Imagine a super easy way for every open source project out there (or us hello :P) to integrate supporter payments into them and donations and such. Instantly thinking it's a bad idea is so weird.

Horrible UX - hiding the scroll bar, disabling keyboard scrolling

And on top of that they are hiding the prices of the games until your signed up, that is so shady that if not for the fact that is a subdomain to google.com I'd have said this was 100% a scam :|
I do agree, their homepage is rubbish and that's actually their second attempt. I don't really get why they're still hiding the majority of it behind a login.
