Quoting: Alm888I am ashamed to admit, but it is "Pathologic 2" for me this weekend.

It is not available for Linux (albeit working on WINE 4.9 vanilla), currently features only one of the three planned(?) storylines and buggy as hell (memory leaks and freezes. Yes, on Windows it is the same; I've checked against some walkthroughs on YouTube. Disabling shadows help a lot), but playable (in 1024x768 virtual desktop) even on my humble GPU.

It is a shame this game is not available on Linux (and, as usual, I am not persuading anyone into spending money on a Windows game), because the atmosphere is there and the writing has improved a lot sinse the original.
Kinda amazed you're willing to admit this after your rants at me for covering a game played with Steam Play...
The only reason I play this is because I am a backer and received my GOG copy from Kickstarter. It is a shame that the project is basically a flop and we will not receive the game promised.

P.S. Please, note that I never was against WINE per se and using it to play pre-owned Windows games (and in case of this Kickstarter, the gamage has already been done, so no point to restrict myself from salvaging at least something out of that mess). I am only against promoting Proton™ as a legitimate way of spending money without any, even the most flimsy, evidence a game will come to Linux or its developers care at all.
Fair enough. I did email them to see what's going on as it was supposed to support Linux - no reply.

As for Proton, you already know my thoughts :)

Quoting: einherjarI my point of view GOG messes things like this up.
If you can have a Linuxversion on Steam but not on GOG It does not seem to be the gamedevs fault.

Just my 2 Cents.
That's up to VP really. GOG said that much explicitly.

See: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogcom_summer_sale_festival_is_live_d714f/post26 [External Link]
I've reached out to VP to find out if they plan to get the Linux version of BioShock Infinite on GOG.

Quoting: KimyrielleWhat a nice little gem! Good find, Liam! :)
It's interesting, as I've seen a great many people say discovery is an issue on Steam and that the discovery queue does nothing and yet even someone like me (who goes over hundreds a month) is able to find new games with it...

Remembering an old friend with Polychromatic, a fantastic high-score chaser

Quoting: SamsaiI can highly recommend the game. It doesn't look like much but it controls really well, the gameplay just works and the soundtrack fits into the game and is enjoyable to listen to. Also, I just did a 1 500 000 point run completely cold just to see how well I compared to Liam's recording. He still needs to play a bit of catch up. :P
You are dead to me.

Humble Store has a big "Table-Flipping Tabletop Sale" going with some great Linux games on offer

Quoting: khalismurNever managed to get Armello running properly. It really looks like a nice game, I bought it even twice. Once it didn't work at all (didn't launch), got refunded. Later on, I read Linux issues were fixed so I bought it again... then the Steam Controller didn't work despite the game being advertised as fully compatible. Sadly had to refund it as well; Wish I could play it :(

Very tempted to get Slay the Spire, thanks for the head-up!
For games that don't work with the Steam Input, do try out SC Controller [External Link]. I use it for GOG games and all sorts, very handy.

The latest '7 Days to Die' experimental build allows more graphics tweaking, running nicely

Quoting: GuestIn order to keep constantly above 60fps (~80+) in general I need to run the Windows build through proton because the Linux build is lagging massive performance optimizations o.o I would not call it "running nicely"
My testing was done on the latest experimental, and as said, for me it does run nicely with the noted tweak.

"Nicely" is subjective of course, like any time I talk about my own experience with something. In this case, I stand by what I said with it set on "High", with one thing turned off keeping me mostly at 60FPS - that is nice to me.
