Cyberpunk hack & shoot FPS 'Black Ice' just got updated and it feels like a whole new game

Quoting: shazznerIt's not working for me at the moment, just doesn't run with no output. I took a look at the local files and see a /bin with a Linux32 folder. I tried running the dystopia.sh directly and it says there is no dystopia in the Linux32 folder.

Any ideas?
This is not the article you're looking for, move along, move along

Ps. That article clearly notes it's not working yet ;)

Stellaris: Apocalypse is due soon & there's a new overview video up, also a note about Linux sales

To be clear the quote is from a business guy at the publisher, not the developer. Paradox Interactive, not Paradox Development Studio.

A bunch of the posts that show there aren't even related ;)

I get it, people would rather see "x game confirmed" constantly, but I am personally excited by BR games. Apart from that one CSGO mod, no other has even said they're thinking about it. So to me, this is interesting.

If we highlight games were developers are thinking on it, it's also a good chance for users to let them know they're interested.

Starmancer, a space station sim inspired by Dwarf Fortress will have Linux support, looks awesome

Quoting: rkfgLooks so familiar... I instantly remembered Spacebase DF9 [External Link], but hopefully this one won't end up like that.
Yeah, I realised after posting the article what it reminded me of. However, it looks like it already has tons more to offer :)

Fantasy Farming: Orange Season, a farm-life RPG recently added Linux support

Quoting: KimyrielleOn Steam store, it actually says "Open Code", not open source. And they also say that it's ok to be used for modding purposes. Which is not -quite- open source, but still above and beyond of what close to 100% of all game developers do, who habitually tend to faint if you dare asking for the source code of games they stopped selling 20 years go.

And the game looks fairly interesting, too!
I'm pretty sure they must have seen this article, it did say Open Source until after I posted this. It also still says it on itch.io and checking history of the page (wayback machine and others) it did say Open Source.

So I guess they read what I said :P

Edit: They "liked" our Tweet about it, so I assume they did read it, good to see it corrected though :)

Rise of Industry, a strategic tycoon game is now out in Early Access
14 Feb 2018 at 12:10 pm UTC

Quoting: RiseOfIndustryThe game is on the first week of Early Access, trying to gather system specs and feedback. It's the first time we try to make something work on Linux, so you need to bear with us. The forced windowed issue is because, for some reason we are of course still investigating, the game doesn't render on fullscreen as most machines seem to miss one component or another. If Linux didn't have a billion DEs and Distros, we would've had it perfectly done already.

We don't officially support Ubuntu (yet) as the libraries included are quite different with the ones we're accustomed to. Saying what Valve supports doesn't help one bit as the game is not done with SteamOS in mind.

So just please have some patience, knocking down with articles like these, doesn't really help as we're already investing a serious amount of time for helping just 0.41% of the playerbase. We'll get it right, soon.

As for the gameplay concerns raised by Colombo, most are addressed in 5.1 (coming in a couple days), and you can expect an overhaul of the tech tree and town AI by 6.0.

Please note that Early Access is for gathering of data, we can't have anything right on day one. Help us make this game even better!
Firstly, I do think it's great you support Linux, so thank you for that.

I'm curious what issues exactly you've seen with fullscreen on Linux. That should work the same across all distros. There is one Unity3D issue, which is a well known bug where fullscreen doesn't get input - it's fixed in later versions of Unity.

I do think it's strange to not support Ubuntu, the most popular distribution. We always advise developers to test it first.

Our job is to give our honest thoughts on how a game is right now and I feel this article does exactly that. You are selling a game after all, with people buying it and so people do need to be aware of issues. We do always aim to do followup articles when games get better. As I already said I will do.

Goodluck with the game.

Farming sim 'Cattle and Crops' hits Steam Early Access, has Linux support

Quoting: inlinuxdudeSo, is there animal agriculture in this or no? The title would seem to indicate so, but I don't see anything in this review, or on the steam store indicating so. I'd love to play it if it is just tractors and fields.. :D
From what I understand yes, however I have yet to experience that part of it. It's a slooooow game

Quoting: finaldestYou CAN make the game go full screen in game by clicking on the window menu (not game menu) up in the top left of the screen.
That's likely specific to XFCE, as stated I'm on GNOME (the standard Ubuntu experience).
