Quoting: BeamboomThat trailer looks nothing like the videos on Steam, with a real 3D world? That's the multiplayer trailer. They still haven't put up a proper release day trailer.

Inner Chains, yet another Kickstarted title to delay Linux support

No matter what, I don't think developers on Kickstarter should get a free pass when it comes to not delivering. We will continue to note on GOL when developers don't deliver for numerous reasons. The most important being: to help people decide who to support in future.

Quoting: chepatiSo, yes, while kickstarter projects are a risky proposition, we should not shun the platform outright. There are some good, responsible developers, who get the freedom to experiment with new ideas without the pressure of having to get approved by publishers, who are by nature risk-averse and prefer sequels of successful franchises to interesting, but perhaps not so marketable ideas.Fully agree here, I will support certain Kickstarters if the conditions are right :)
Quoting: nmeTaking that in consideration, note that $5K does not pay for a whole lot of development time. While I agree of course, they set the price for it, not us.

Quoting: TcheyAre they real puzzles, or try and repeat puzzles ? I mean, a quick example i have in mind : a piano with 20 keys, find the correct 8 keys and in order, to open the door, is try and repeat. If there are clues to find the keys immediately if you think well, then it's real puzzles. In my opinion. There are always clues, nothing in the game is based on guess work.

An interview with Beamdog about Linux gaming, they say it’s worth it

Quoting: dubigrasuAlas, for all the good words about SteamOS the Beamdog client doesn't work on it. (older libstdc++.so.6).Their games are built to work on SteamOS of course, but their client is not. SteamOS isn't a place where you're meant to go around installing other clients ;)

Quoting: DoctorJunglistWhy not just directly buy Serious Sam Fusion, which already has 1st and 2nd encounter included, and there will be more content. It also has a Linux version, so you will definitely be registered as a Linux purchase. It's on sale as well, costing 1.5 euro.Well, no. The first one is just Serious Sam HD The First Encounter. You have to buy them all to get them in Fusion. That's what the "Packages that include this game" is about.

Quoting: SkarjakComplaining about fragmentation is completely ridiculous. To you maybe, but some of us know what fragmentation causes.
Quoting: SkarjakA lot of people seem to think they can tell others what to do with their time.No one is telling anyone what to do lol, cool down.

Quoting: khalismurThis is nothing to do with GOL, as stated. And actually, 99% of the time I do something "against the community" it ends up that I'm right ;) because the people who say that are usually the 1%.Quoting: liamdaweWell, I actually made a decision earlier about doing a new site for general Linux news. Will do a proper announcement on it later.:-( As I said, there is enough redundancy already..... GoL was unique in terms of size, structure and community (there is also boilingsteam).
I totally understand some people have reservations about me doing it, but I will explain more when it's time to.
General news, oh, there are so many already.... Too bad Liam.
You asked the question, almost all answers were negative or neutral and you decided to go for it. I remember that going against your comminuty is seldom a great idea !
