Magicka 2 Officially Released For SteamOS & Linux

Quoting: ajgpI hope you are as well, but currently the Steam landing page is curiosly absent of any big fanfare. Im hoping that is because of the time difference and when the USA comes online steam will be loud and proud about SteamOS's release today. I will be severely dissappointed if today passes as if it is any other day for valve.
It's like 7:26am where Valve is, patience.

Three Years Ago Valve Put Steam Into Beta For Linux, A Look At It All

I decided to just go for a dedicated SteamOS box rather than dual boot for less hassle, and to be honest the only thing I will be really using that Steam Machine for is gaming anyway.

I might look into Kodi, I can't imagine it being all that hard to setup.

What do you use for TV on the prospective SteamOS box? I've been thinking about moving over to SteamOS, but MythTV is holding me back; I'm less confident about setting up MythTV on SteamOS than using pre-packaged Mythbuntu.

Also, while I hope against hope that Linux gaming manages to break through, I don't feel like we can take much comfort in 1600+ games on Steam. Many of these are low quality indie games or iOS/Android freemium games ported over.

I'm hoping that 2017 brings more high quality indie games and AAA games... the Humble Indie Bundles are becoming less frequent, I'm sure, and I don't know how much is their new profit-making plan and how much is that there just aren't the high quality indie games there used to be.
I just use my Virgin Media cable box ;).

It's good to see people do agree with me on the quality of the games, recently had to ban someone who resorted to personal attacks for their blindness on it.

I think 2018 is really going to be our make it or break it year. We won't see the full effects until 2017 is over I think.

There was me thinking no one would pick up on that ^_^

I will have a Steam Controller guaranteed on Tuesday now, so my thoughts will be up this week! I will be sure to include this game now.

Win A Steam Machine From GameAgent, UK & USA Only

Quoting: edoIt should work on other countries, for example, thanks to a company than help in the process, I have bought stuff from amazon with a postal direction targeting to miami, then it arrives to my country. So I guess I can still participate in this giveaway. The only problem is than I would have to select usa as my country lol, so I didnt
There's probably reasons why it's set in the countries as it is, so I wouldn't try to "game" it. That would ruin it for people who do actually qualify.

Quoting: neowiz73I still don't understand what made them have to lose the Linux symbol. their game seemed no different than many other ports. Nevertheless, it has always worked great for me on multiple distributions.
If it didn't launch correctly on SteamOS, the icon will be removed by Valve.
hmm that's interesting. I assume it's because of the extra launcher? I guess they haven't tested Planet Explorers yet, because they do the same thing. And yet still have their Linux symbol.
This article should give some insight.

AMD Radeon Software Crimson Driver Announced, Completely Redesigned From The Ground Up

Quoting: GuestThis is indeed something currently windows only, and it hasn't been confirmed if it'll come to GNU/Linux at all. Being Qt does not mean it wil - as far as I've read elsewhere, the reasons were performance and stability, not portability.
That all being said, it's likely it will come through GNU/Linux in some form or other. I suspect not anytime soon though.
What makes you think that it is Windows only, if it is intended to replace the CCC?
I can read anywhere, that will be only for Windows software.

But Liam can ask his AMD Contact for this.
I would ask my AMD contact, but after he agreed to do an interview with me I never heard from him again.
