Free Valve Games For Debian Developers

Quoting: Quote from ShmerlIf Valve wants to make a positive move, they should start offering DRM free games, rather than "free" games. That would be a welcome step. And it's time for them to address the issue of DRM anyway.
Well TF2 and DOTA2 can't be DRM free, since they use Valve's servers.

Linux Game Sales Statistics From Multiple Developers
20 Jan 2014 at 8:10 pm UTC

Quoting: Quote from Half-ShotWell, that just tells you just how far that 2% in the hardware stats goes. Really interesting read and I didn't realise how larger share Linux had of games. Even rust is a good number, since that's sold in the 100,000s already so its going really well.
Indeed, looking at Garry's blog considering how many they have sold (over 150,000 in the first two weeks), let's add another two weeks worth to 300,000 and keep it there up to today at that figure (it could easily be more by now).

They said their Linux base is about 0.4% so when you do the workings out if we didn't go any higher than 0.4% on Rust and with Steam's takings over 30% then Rust has easily made at least £12,500 from Linux gamers alone.

Let me put that into perspective for you, that's since 11th December 2013 just over a month ago.

I hope other developers take notice, a small market share doesn't mean crap earnings.

Quoting: Quote from stanSome people in the comments on his blog are suggesting switching to Unity. I feel it would be the same mistake as using DirectX in the first place.
Yes simply telling someone to use Unity is a problem.

Something I highlighted in an editorial: http://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-indie-game-developer-community-unity3d.2611

I think most people using one tool is very dangerous.

Original Natural Selection Source Code Now On Github
19 Jan 2014 at 12:18 pm UTC

Quoting: Quote from berarmaMay I ask where did you get that idea about github public repositories from? The readme in the repository doesn't suggest an error in the copyright notice.
Huh? It's not a random idea about github repos, it's githubs rules.

There is an issue open to discuss it, as of yet no reply

Oh really?
By setting your repositories to be viewed publicly, you agree to allow others to view and fork your repositories.
Their headers say otherwise since to copy it or "fork it" you would need written permission which is contrary to github public repo rules.
