Edit: Personally, I'll wait for Valve to create it's own Raytracing build with a futur version of AMD FSR, approved for the Steam Deck it will have been designed for (Steam Deck 2? Steam Deck 3?). I feel absolutely no hype nor FOMO when it comes to raytracing. My wallet is most grateful. :smile:

And how bad of an experience Windows is.

SteamOS is pretty good (not perfect at all tho), but honestly, it would have to be pretty damn bad for Windows to be the better option.
Windows is fine on desktops, but on touch devices and even more so on handheld devices such as the Deck (gamepad + touch) it just doesn't cut it.

Let me begin by making it clear I hate Windows. There, now that's out of the way I can mention how Valve recently added the ability to use game mode aka the new big picture mode to the desktop client. This means windows users are able to use the new SteamOS UI, even boot right into it if they want.

This is super cool, glad to see they're finally replacing the old Big Picture Mode. I used it exclusively for Steam on the TV in my living room for years until my gaming PC went on the fritz.

I've tried this beta with the flag and for me somehow it has replaced Desktop mode as well! Steam boots right into the new Big Picture mode. I think this may be due to a workaround I had previously configured to force Steam into the SteamIU long before this beta.

I really enjoyed Graveyard Keeper, great for those on in Stardew Valley withdrawal pain. It is not a clone, it's own thing to be certain, but similar in many ways. It's got some great irreverent and dark humor.
