Valve have changed how gifting games works
9 May 2017 at 1:04 pm UTC

Quoting: ageresIf a game I already own gets ported to Linux, I buy a copy and store it in my inventory. I cannot gift it immediately because I don't have any friends using Linux, so that would be counted as a Windows sale AFAIK. So, what should I do now?
I have done this a few times i.e. bought games on Linux, kept them for at least 15 days so that they would be permanently recorded as Linux sales, then gifted them to Windows users. Now Valve took even that away. This basically means that I can no longer gift games to friends who use Windows.

Quoting: minjYes, shipping/taxes to Europe is a bitch. If only there was a way around that :D
There are plenty of businesses in the EU that sell laptops or desktops with Linux on them so there is no need to order a machine all the way from the US.

I hope that the update brings the option to turn off a number of Steam features such as achievements, tracking of time spent in game, badges, and other stuff I simply do not want on my profile. I am all about options.

Quoting: ShmerlI think someone posted that GOG support told him, that they collect stats on user agents and downloads. But I can't find the source now.
That seems likely judging from the following images:

Quoting: HadBabitsHmm, looks fun, and I do love me some Dark Soulsian action :) Though, something about the protagonist designs seem a bit too cartoony to me? 0.o

Edit: Upon closer inspection it's really just their faces that put me off. Looks almost kind of anime? And despite some character showing some facial stubble they all look 12 o3o

Edit²: Woah, on even closer inspection they've got really weird eyes and no nose 0.0

Edit3.0: OR EARS 8U
I do not know what kind of anime you have been watching, but the faces have been likened to fish. The bit about lacking noses and ears seems to corroborate this.

I am so hyped for Salt and Sanctuary. This, along with Eitr, will be the closest that us Linux users will get to Dark Souls for the foreseeable future.

Quoting: ShmerlDeep Silver never managed to release Linux versions of their Metro games on GOG. So I kind of don't care by now.
Take a look at this post [External Link] on GOG. It appears that GOG is to blame, not Deep Silver.
