Developers of Party Animals announce an AI video contest - game gets a review bomb

Honestly, as development studios (especially the big ones) don't listen to us little people these days unless we affect their bottom line...Good, I am glad they are left reeling after the review bombing. They could've read the room and figured out LLMs aren't that fetch. Sure there are some deluded, brainwashed, or hope-huffing techbros that are knee deep into them...But overall, most people can't stand gassed up LLMs. As the rich and powerful literally stole a lot of human knowledge, art, our individual words, and still couldn't make something that was smart. Instead, a brain dead LLM that is a dead end, as this scam was for a quick buck...It was never going to succeed in generating eternal profits like they were trying to manifest with NFTs, Crypto, and all the other horseshit they tried to peddle. True AI is going to take a real, collective human effort to create (hopefully by then we'll have successfully destroyed capitalism) so it doesn't go rotten on future generations. Naturally, most people that haven't been caught in the hype and hope-huffing are bitter about it and will use the tools available to them to fight back.

I don't have any sympathy for these devs, they stumbled into this idea blind, without considering the consequences, and paying the appropriate cost for that. Good, I love to see it.

Bazzite Linux 44 lands for desktop gamers and it's a big release
5 May 2026 at 6:27 pm UTC

Quoting: armageddon51I really want to give it try in virtualbox but the live iso (kde) will not boot so I gave up on it. I prefer Manjaro anyway which is as powerful but much easier of use.
I really recommend Garuda Linux if you are looking for Arch, but easier to use! As Garuda has a lot of tools that harnesses the power of Arch, while taming the issues that naturally occur because of the bleeding edge rolling release style of Arch.

Mozilla announced "Thunderbolt", their open-source and self-hostable AI client
16 Apr 2026 at 6:46 pm UTC Likes: 6

I think Mozilla need to just stop it already with the LLMs, LLMs aren't the infinite moneymaker they thought it would be. They aren't going to be fetch because techbros rushed gassed up LLMs to market and dressed them up in name only to be "AI". It just shows me that Mozilla has lost their way, lost in the dark and in need of a guiding light to bring them back to their core principles. Before their products are relegated to the past like Netscape, Internet Explorer and other dead browsers. I've already stopped using anything Mozilla and deleted my account because the trust is broken.

If only Mozilla took Vivaldi's approach to LLMs and rejected them until they can be ethically sourced, and cause no harm to the environment or livelihoods of human beings! Which is probably never, because techbros want to create a torment nexus instead of something genuinely helpful to human beings and the world.

Winnie's Hole gets bigger and easier to play with on the go in a fresh update
17 Mar 2026 at 4:46 pm UTC

ROFL That title, however the game looks really cool! I've been meaning to play Ring of Pain, and since they are the same people behind Winnie's Hole. Might as well become familiar with their dark whimsy before eventually buying Winnie's Hole.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 has become the source of many memes as the backlash continues
17 Mar 2026 at 4:20 pm UTC Likes: 7

When I first saw this...I couldn't believe that Nvidia was proud of these Slop Filters, as Grace looks so haggard and based on what training data might have been used, it screams NSFW based. I've been putting these images on blast on my various socials, as it's so ugly. Honestly, I wouldn't call it "yassifying" as the goal is always making characters gay coded and fabulous. To be honest, all I've seen from the tech is a tired sex worker aesthetic on the women, which says a lot about the source of their Slop training data. However, I would say this is definitely AI Slop Lookscursing, as I am not living for any of it's character alterations.

All it's giving is, to quote the famous Drag Queen Thorgy Thor, "Oh Jesus, gross!"

Hytale gets a huge Patch 3 update with Animal Taming, Map Markers and lots of new content
13 Mar 2026 at 5:28 pm UTC

Simon has really put in serious work into Hytale, it makes me glad that I bought the Cursebreaker Edition of the game. The best thing for a complex game like Hytale is a long EA period that people can play and make suggestions. Also find bugs and test fundamental features to make sure they are working 100%. Can't wait to see what else Simon and his team have up their sleeves.

Your stance on GenAI is a sane one, and I appreciate you sharing this...I've been meaning to become a supporter, so this payday will be that day! I want to make sure you can keep this site going for as long as possible with human written articles about Linux and related topics! 🥰

Project Zomboid has a major update with a new sound engine and more
22 Jan 2016 at 5:41 pm UTC

They did fix some lingering issues that did indeed make it unplayable...Now I can kick back and relax playing the game with the Steam Controller! I have to get reacquainted with Project Zomboid again, as it has added a number of features which I wanted to play with.

Shakedown Hawaii, the follow up to Retro City Rampage should be on Linux
17 Jan 2016 at 10:11 am UTC Likes: 1

Well that is good the developer is sticking with a comedy theme as Retro City Rampage was a better game for it. I loved their sense of humor, deranged as it is at times. What makes it even better is that it won't lean as heavily on pop culture, as while there are some gems to be used...Overuse may lead to the loss of effectiveness on the player, original content is always a welcome thing.

Don't Starve Together To Get 'Reign Of Giants' As A Free Expansion Soon
17 Apr 2015 at 9:02 am UTC

It is nice addition but I have the feeling I will be playing the game as Singleplayer, survival games are better for me if I play by myself as it is a test to see if I can survive. Having additional players would make the game easier because you can assign various important tasks to friends making the survival aspect of Don't Starve trivial. However, people should have options and this clearly doesn't water down the Singleplayer experience in anyway so I welcome the addition.
