Quoting: Frank DrebinPardon my noobish question but I have Ubuntu 16.04 and the game requires 16.10. Is there a chance I could run the game on 16.04? I don't feel like upgrading my perfectly working OS because of one game...
Only Feral can answer that for sure, but I can tell you that I'm still on 14.04 and I've played every game that Feral has released so far, and I'll be playing Dirt Rally too. The graphics driver version is the important thing.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI don't see the relation between "Spacious Skies" and Dirt Rally
Some clever people figured it out quite a while back. Spacious Skies is a lyric from America the Beautiful, which is based on a poem titled Pike's Peak (a track featured in the game). The type of drum in the picture shared its name with a system (navigation?) used in rally racing.
The drum is a Jemba (or Djembe), which is also the name of a notes system used in Rally for pace notes:

Appreciating how far Linux gaming has actually come in the past few years

Quoting: AimelaI'm curious, how was gaming in Linux before 2013? I only became aware that Linux was anything more than a CLI OS(as in, completely lacking any GUI elements) in the second half of 2013 and installed Ubuntu for the first time in October of that year, after Steam had officially started supporting linux.
Before Steam and Humble Bundle, I spent plenty of time with ID Software's titles natively. Doom 3, Quake 4 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. You still had to buy the Windows DVD version, but then download the Linux client from ID. The client would then copy the data files from DVD, and you were up and running.

I needed 39 hours until the credits (rock 'n') rolled. A great game and plenty to check out outside of the main story.

What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

If it's just one then it's Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.. What a great game in so many ways.

Quoting: DMGCan anyone tell me, please, if game requirements say, that it needs Ubuntu 16.04, does that means, it will work only in 16.04? Or there is chance, that it will work on Ubuntu 14.04 too? Ubuntu 16.04 do not have old drivers, but I want to try Mad Max.
I'm still running Ubuntu 14.4 and Mad Max works just fine, although you will get a warning about unsupported OS, just ignore it. More important is the graphics driver version.
