Quoting: SlackdogWell played it. Can you get a refund cos a game is shit? Horrible camera, dated gfx - I know the game was released a couple of years or so ago but not 1997 surely?
I'll take cream with my humble pie please. ;) Played it some more and some of my comments are still valid but it's a damn good game! Some of the camera angles are still a bit iffy on the default settings but can be changed.

A pair of Hyper X cloud II headphones makes the music a whole lot better!

About as close as Linux gets to burnout revenge atm - can we bribe the devs to make a crash junction mode please!

Oh and Liam - your steam post advice worked! But the 360 pad issues have deffo improved and not had a crash in a while.

:)

When I used it it installed the 355 beta drivers - but wasn't really paying attention so my own fault I guess :P Oddly when I tried to use the 346 or 352 drivers my system ran like crap so go figure...

The original UT was my first online game - I'm gonna be all over this like a rash! A bit later.... 2.6Gb!

Then again who else remembers waiting what seemed like hours downloading the updates via a 56k modem hehe.

:)

Download just stopped :(

I can see both sides to this - on the one hand we are getting games that only two years ago would have needed wine which is great! But there is a worry that it will become the norm and native ports won't be made 'because the wrapper version sells as well'.

I hope that enough games are sold for us to become a viable (if maybe niche) market and we get native versions of all the AAA games made. At the moment I'm just making hay whilst the sun shines - hopefully things will just get better when the Steam consoles go on market.

I have been and will continue to support devs that release Linux games - even one or two that i might not play - though that now is fading as we are getting some awesome stuff!

Just my 2 cents so to speak. :)

/edit

and maybe windows framerates are better - that will no doubt improve with time and for the moment I've not played a game yet that was too slow to enjoy...

What the hell it's only a tenner and with the lack of driving games at the moment worth a punt! Running an AMD CPU (FX 8350) and a Nvidia 760GTX GPU.

Due to inattention on my part am running the latest beta drivers on the GPU - pay attention when sorting out the PPA's folks :P

And to the devs - Burnout next, eh? ;)

Finally had time to take a look. And wow. Does seem to need a gamepad though (though that could be my geeky left handedness :P)

No framerate issues as of yet but only played for a short time - but big props to Feral! Now I just need to sort out a few days off... ;)
