Alien Isolation patch released, improving AMD CPU performance on Linux
16 December 2015 at 11:49 pm UTC Likes: 1

Well an an AMD CPU user... Not had a chance to actually play but it launches a whole lot faster with no stuttering. Before the update could drop to 1fps as it ran the launcher video. Seems to be making better use of my 8 cores too with more of them actually working - heard my case fans kick in for once!

I'll put in a hour or so of game time tomorrow to check but tbh it ran pretty sweet before (loading excepted).

Rig is;

AMD 8350 @ 4GHz
NVidia GTX 970
16GB RAM

Settings pretty much maxed out

In the last few weeks I have;

Installed a new GFX card
Upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10
Doubled my RAM
Bought a steam controller

No survey....

I do wonder though if running a benchmark like HL2 Lost Coast updates the stats?
