I'll join Facebook when they decide to pay me cold, hard cash for my personal data. Actually it's hard to imagine anyone --- let alone actual video gamers --- not already on Facebook giving this service a second thought. I'm older than Marky Zuck, but I hope he dies before me so I can have a shit in his honor.

Quoting: ageresSorry, but, the EGS version? Does online play work on that?Quoting: NanobangHere's hoping that this fixes Borderlands 3 at last!Doesn't it work? I played the EGS version on launch, it ran fine.
Just kidding, there's no hope of that. LOL! It's as messed up as its gold rating on ProtonDB [External Link].
I'm crying inside.

A 'Gold' rating used to mean that a game ran perfectly with just a few tweaks, whereas a 'Silver' rating was something like the game was playable after tweaks but still had issues. Lack of online play and continuing complaints of stuttering would rate Borderlands 3 a 'Silver' by that reckoning.
At some point I'll be able to play it on my Linux box, of that I feel certain. ;)

Quoting: BogomipsNever had real problems with borderlands 3 once everything is set (mf-install/cab and proton 4).The big --- and ongoing --- hitch for me has been the lack of online play, unless that's been fixed and I missed it. I'm not really sure what constitutes a 'Gold' rating on ProtonDB nowadays. I couldn't find a current set of definitions at PDB just now.

I meant to underscore what I said at the beginning: that this isn't "retro [External Link]" because it isn't imitative of a past style, it's a duplicate of a past object. Any perceived ridicule or distaste in my words was aimed at the seller of such a thing, not those who might want to buy it. :)

Quoting: Liam DaweOh, to be sure, people will buy this. And even more people will think it's cool. And that's totally groovy! I'm behind people finding a little sunshine for themselves in life, however they can. An inauthentic object can bring people authentic, valid joy.Quoting: NanobangThis is a fake antique. This is the equivalent of one of those phones that look like a rotary phone, but have buttons instead of holes in a dial, and have modern electronics inside.Doesn't mean it's not cool and that people won't buy it though. Personally, I genuinely like the style of a lot of older things but I like how far things have come. Merging old styles with the new is a good thing for some. A lot of "modern" styling is junk.

Someone needs to tell Sean Donohue that this isn't retro. It's kitsch.
My first computer was a VIC-20. I bought it in 1981 from a local stereo store for $300, so I could maybe see someone getting a kick out of playing around with an original VIC or C-64 nowadays, or maybe retrofitting a modern computer into a real VIC or C-64 shell, but I don't get this.

And how'm I gonna get my GTX 1070 into that? ;)

Somewhere in all this I bet I could find the reason I've been having problems with Dying Light on SteamPlay crashing lately, where it used to be rock stable. I've found ways to fix it each time, but it's nice to think that it might be fixed with a new Vulkan or the new Nvidia driver.
SteamOS-like Linux distribution GamerOS has a new release, adds in Epic Game Store support

This is disappointing news, to me at any rate. If GamerOS were going to internalize other gaming clients, I would much rather have seen itch.io and GoG support before --- or more accurately, instead of --- Epic support.

This is one of those games that's guaranteed to get me laughing. There's just something about the block-heads with painted-on faces and the game physics which just cracks me up. Oh, and the over-the-top gore! I love this game!

Is there a map? I need some sort of in game mapping function in these games. I've never finished Subnautica for this (and a couple other reasons, if I'm honest).
I recently saw 'The Shallows' [External Link] and the thought of swimming around in shark-infested waters is simply terrifying --- which, of course, makes me want to play it even more. :woot: Wishlisted!
