A beautiful, almost impressionistic, looking game. It's easy to see a shared ancestry with Absolute drift in the style of both art and motion.
But what are 'Ghost Cars?' What does it mean to say we'll

Quoting: Liamalso now have Ghost Cars so [we] can see and race against [our] local ghost? And, more importantly to me, do the crowds watching the race ever fall beneath our car's tires or crushed like a bug against our speeding (probably out of control) chassis?
Minigalaxy the simple GOG client for Linux has a big 1.0 release

Personally, I'm installing Minigalaxy now. I don't have too many titles with GoG (mostly things GoG gave me for free because I already had the game on Steam) because of all the little inconveniences they've created, beginning with not having a Linux client, through the clunkiness of their website, and on to the additional steps needed to keep the games updated, etc., etc., ad nauseam.
Minigalaxy has gotten to the point I've been waiting for. I like having DRM free games (y'know, like I actually own them), but I think Minigalaxy will make it so that I like to play them too.
---------------------------
[EDIT:ADDENDUM: Alas, apparently I'll still have to use the GoG site to look at store pages for game info. I have a few titles about which I remember nothing. Lol.]

Quoting: JuliusWould be nice to have this in the Arch/Manjaro repositories.According to the Minigalaxy release page on Github [External Link]:
As usual a deb file for installing this release on Debian 10+ and Ubuntu 18.10+ is listed below. Manjaro and Arch users can use the official AUR package. [External Link]Hope that helps :)

Looks adorable, and the ability to glide, the way it's implemented, is inspired! Once the devs have fleshed it out a bit more (skills, better PvP/re-spawn system, etc.) I'd can see spending many and hour monkeying around in this.

Would those who play mind answering a few questions?
I'm beginning to seriously think about maybe getting this game.
- What does "death" mean for a character? What happens?
- I'm not really into PvP play. Is it possible to find PvE only multiplayer servers?
- Are there (m)any free servers available for online play?
- Is it possible to play local singleplayer without setting up a server? Or if a server must be set up, how I-don't-know-how-to-set-up-servers friendly is it?
I'm beginning to seriously think about maybe getting this game.

Good interview, Liam. I like the cut of their jib. Articulate, well-reasoned, and speaking in complete sentences like human beings and not homogenized talking points vetted by legal like some marketing department peons.
I would've liked to hear more about their relationship with Linux. For example, why did they initially decide to create for Linux, and how have their experiences changed between then and now? What advice they might they give to new Linux game devs and what advice would they give to experienced game devs considering getting into developing for Linux?

Quoting: SamsaiYup, the problem seems Xorg specific. Works just fine here on Wayland from what I'm seeing, except for the fact that it doesn't launch from Steam and you must fire it up manually. Maybe you peeps just need to get with the times? :PI love everything about Wayland, except that it doesn't play nice with Nvidia --- unless that's changed recently.
Quoting: Lord_PhoenixI watched an interview with the producer (I think) and they said they are not really investing into linux, because while it works somewhat it's fine, but no major investment/improvement planned because linux is such a mess.Though I'm grateful for everything Valve has done for Linux gaming, the one place where I feel they've dropped the ball is in creating and maintaining a standard Linux for Steam gaming. Originally it was Ubuntu 12.04, wasn't it? And/or SteamOS? But in the first case they never updated it and in the second it never left beta, I think. (When did SteamOS have it's last update, anyway?) Perhaps valve could/should have taken a page from Microsoft's playbook and actively promoted it and working with devs developing for Linux/SteamOS.

Sounds like the wettest wet dream of every intelligence agency in the world. I mean, I'm a little hazy on the what it means to say that keys can be "recovered," but isn't the upshot of all this that unfriendly software can decrypt and use encryption keys to decrypt local information?

Somewhere among the recent Xubuntu, SteamPlay, Steam Linux Runtime, and Nvidia driver updates, Dying Light became unstable, crashing unexpectedly, sometimes after minutes, other times after hours. I used to play with Vulkan because it just ran better than native. I switched back to native a few weeks ago, hoping DL would become reliably playable again, but no luck.
I've resorted to firing up my Win7 machine for the first time in over a year to continue a playthrough with a friend. I don't have any real expectations this update will fix it, but deep down inside there is a sliver of hope that this will magically fix everything.

Even at $10, I'm not feeling Hellraid as a future purchase. I imagine it to be DL without the blood or parkour and all crammed into an underground labyrinth.
That said, I LOVE Dying Light, and the Dead Island games that preceded it. This is the last day of the horde mode and I gotta say, it's been a blast! It's just wave after wave of screaming virals. At first it was a bit overwhelming, but after a couple hours of head-lopping I started to yearn for packs of a dozen or more virals to wade into and hack to bits!
