Quoting: liamdawePerhaps one of these will be a good time to check out some cheap games from Windows-only developers for use in Steam Play?Absolutely. That I can now (easily) play more of the types of games I really enjoy (1st and 3rd person exploro-shooter open-world action thingies) because of Proton means: Yay! I can play more games that I wanna play! I want to play games and I want to play them on my beloved I-love-it-so-much-I-want-to-marry-it Linux. But whatever UnLinux titles I buy, they're gonna be at least 60% off. ;D

Quoting: wintermuteHi wintermute! Thanks for the correction. When I wrote about "the steamdb changes" I guess I was being lazy, using a shorthand. I was thinking about how steamdb changes because the information it is reporting changes. Maybe it would have been better written as something like, "... it's nice that they linked their expanded whitelist as reflected in the steamdb ...."Quoting: NanobangI mean, it's nice that they linked the steamdb changes, but why wouldn't they update their own list proper and just use that? You have it backwards - SteamDB is merely reporting changes made in Steam/Valve repositories, it is not a repository in itself. In other words, SteamDb is showing the changes they made to "their own list proper", just in a more convenient format for the general public.

Is there a second official Steam Whitelist somewhere besides the original one? [External Link] Or are they just not bothering to update their whitelist. I mean, it's nice that they linked the steamdb changes, but why wouldn't they update their own list proper and just use that? Am I missing something?
This niggle aside, it IS good to see evidence that the Steam crew are testing games.

I've been looking forward to the final release of this game for so long now that I don't entirely remember what it's even about. Vigilantes, apparently. Still, looking forward to this one coming out of Early access at last. Gonna kill me some criminals.

Quoting: liamdaweTruthfully, I've not always had a great experience with Lutris. The interface needs a lot of work to make it more friendly ...Same here. In fact, though I've no interest in making videos, I nevertheless seriously considered making one of me trying to use Lutris, so the devs could see what a confusing morass the UI was for a (or at least this) uninitiated user.

I'm glad to see PoL is still alive and, if not kicking, twitching. This project was what opened Wine gaming up for me (almost a decade ago? Sheesh) and has a place in my heart because of that. I've never found much use for its scripts, but it was, and is, an excellent Wine management tool. Kudos PoL people!

Quoting: liamdaweYeah, we've been without the feature for a long time now I do wonder why it's not in.You're too nice. We've been without the feature from forever. I wonder if Valve isn't waiting on something magical from Vulkan or some such. Whatever their reasons, my countenance darkens and I glower every time I think about it. Nah, I'm joking. I don't glower.
