7 Days to Die massive update released, Linux version seems to work okay now

Tl;dr: Great Early Access game constantly getting better.

I've been playing 7d2d since alpha 8 or so, and man-oh-man do I like the way the game is shaping up. The arcane crafting system of yore has been greatly streamlined, removing the clever-but-grind-y tedium of hit-hit-hit-collect-collect-collect.

And I adore the new skill system! It's novel and sensible. Experience is not easily won and rewards activity in a way that encourages thinking about my character as a character and not merely a proxy for my in-game self.

My only gripe about 7d2d has been the peculiar fragility of materials traditionally considered extremelydurable. Stone, reinforced concrete, and even wood have long been used to build our castles, bunkers, and forts because it takes substantially more than the impact of human flesh and bone (let alone rotten flesh and bone) to damage them. I'm not keening for "Realism," as little about the game is realistic, nor should it be. But this materials issue breaks the internal logic of the game-world's physics. It seems paradoxical that rotten flesh and bone can be at once durable enough to demolish a stone wall and fragile enough to be instantly pierced by an arrow tip of the same material. But I expect this quibble too will be addressed and adjusted in time.

Kudos to you for posting a link to this excellent review, Bradgy.

Every time the Homefront Hope has flitted through the Linuxian group mind, I've linked to this same review at RPS as being well-balanced but --- more importantly --- informational and specific enough for readers to determine for themselves whether or not they will enjoy Homefront: Rev..

DeepSilver has been great about getting AA and AAA titles ported to Linux, and Darksiders disappointment nothwithstanding, I'm excited to see this game is at last coming to Linux. But I remember the very good sale prices This game has sold for as well, so while I'm absolutely certain I will be buying this game, I am not yet certain what price I'm willing to pay for it.

'Earthlock: Festival of Magic' 3D RPG now has a Linux alpha available

Normally I skip right over games with "turn-based" combat because of the way they pluck me out of whatever sense of immersion I may have gotten from the rest of the gameplay, so I doubt I would have given this a second glance. But turn-based combat aside, the richness of the rest of the game may well provide more than enough immersion. Wishlisted and followed. Thanks Liam.

Become a Vampire hunter in 'Slayer Shock' now out in full with Linux support

I bought the game at launch and played eight hours my first session --- and I'm still in Season One. Worth every penny --- and I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to game purchases XD. I agree with Liam, I think, that I'll wish there were more content available, not because I find the game lacking, but because I hunger for more!

Whatever Slayer Shock may "lack" in graphics is more than made up for by clever game mechanics, sophisticated game play, and subtle humour. The graphics style takes me back to Half-Life and its brethren, simple appearance but sublime originality.

Beautiful futuristic parkour-sim 'Valley' is confirmed as due next week

Quoting: scainThanks to the porting delay, at least we'll benefit from the game having received its first patch, fixing some gameplay bugs and polishing
I'm glad you mentioned this. It's a nice little "upside" to the near-ubiquitous delays of Linux ports. Indeed, it's become part of my psychology: When I bought both Slayer Shock and Hybrid Wars as day one Linux releases, I actually hesitated because neither had spent any time being "playtested" by Windows users. XD

Just a heads up, Saints Row: The Third on Linux has broken co-op play

We are currently extremely busy with project deadlines, however this issue has been noted and will be addressed in a subsequent release.

Do they seriously expect anybody to accept that they are so busy meeting "project deadlines" that it is utterly beyond their ability to even acknowledge customer complaints about their product's broken features? That is so patently false it's insulting. Still, it would seem to be that the only other alternative to such a flimsy lie would be that they simply chose to ignore their customer's bug report,

I accept bugs, but I also expect timely patches. As promises are made with words but are only kept with actions, so assurances are only as good as the word of the assurers. There is little credence in the word of someone who has neglected a customer complaint about a game's missing feature for almost half a year. Telling me that the "issue ... will be addressed in a subsequent release" bears little credence, especially when, according to Steam, there have been no updates or releases since the first one six months ago.

'Osiris: New Dawn', a graphically impressive multiplayer adventure and survival game coming to Linux

The game is being developed on Unity. We are striving for MAC/Linux/Steam OS. Not all of them will be supported when we launch on Early Access.
Wait. What does that mean? I read it as something like, "Gonna try to get this game on Mac and Linux/SteamOS --- but ultimately, only one of these two when we release on Early Access." So it will be available on Mac OR Linux/SteamOS upon Early Access release?

I'm missing something, aren't I? Because as written, this sounds to me less certain than the commonplace: "Windows only at launch, Linux later" comment.

That said, yes, this game looks exactly like the sort of thing I'd play and like to see more of available for Linux.
