Wow! If this GPU is even slightly competitive, the price blows Nvidia out of the water.

Valve fix new EA app in Proton Experimental for Linux and Steam Deck

Quoting: LanzAmazing that EA quality control allowed it to ship while breaking Proton/Steam Deck.
Because it app is targeted for Windows, not Wine / Proton
And that concerns me a bit because we might always have a moving target with supporting Windows games, especially if Microsoft ever makes a big platform change. I can only hope that, as steam deck numbers continue to rise, more game companies will make supporting Linux a priority, even if it's not their top priority.

Great smaller and casual games for the Steam Deck

I hardly ever use my Steam Deck for big AAA games. That's what my desktop is for. With the big games, I want my ultrawide screen, sub-woofer for good bass and as much power as possible for high fps. With my Steam Deck, I can finally get around to going through my back catalog of indie games and emulate old games. I'm honestly loving it.

Quoting: TermyJust bought a GuliKit King Kong 2 controller, but as i still have some issues with it (apparently the first one to have those issues, as always...) i'll keep my xbox one controller in ;D
This is my first time hearing about it. What kind of issues do you have?

AMD to fully reveal next-gen AMD Radeon RDNA 3 in November

Quoting: SilverCodeI think that them putting "energy-efficient" in their announcement is a poke at the new nvidia cards. I'm just hoping they also poke fun at nvidia's price and don't try gouge the consumers.
Honestly, if they can do that, it's a huge win for them. Even if they have to shave profit a bit, they'll sell so many more GPUs. If they play their cards right, one day a mid-range AMD card will take the place of the GTX 1060 at the top of Steam's most-frequently-used GPU list.

UNCHARTED is great on Steam Deck! Here's how to fix it on Linux desktop

I was happy someone found a fix so quickly last night because my daughter wanted to watch me play. It worked well streaming it to my TV via Steam Link.

UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection gets Steam Deck Verified ahead of release
19 Oct 2022 at 8:43 pm UTC

Quoting: Adam_eMSadly, it doesn't work for me. Nothing is happening, and the game is returning to the "play now" state after a while.
Same. I tried multiple proton versions. I don't know what they did on the steam deck to get it verified.

Valve dev understandably not happy about glibc breaking Easy Anti-Cheat on Linux

Quoting: minidouAlso, didn't Valve add the steam runtimes to counter exactly this kind of issue ? If some software need ancient dependencies, don't use system ones, use a set of libs managed by steam.
There's a reason Windows is a huge bloated mess, and it's because they maintain compatibility with ancient software that a lot of enterprise clients still use. I don't know that this is really a case of one way being right and the other being wrong. It's just a different approach. The very thing that makes Linux so much better on portable devices like the Steam Deck also comes with the drawback of not having every ancient library crammed into it in order to keep compatibility with IBM XT computers from 1983. In that regard, Wine is a great alternative.

Spider-Man Remastered is awesome on Steam Deck

Quoting: mAdCraZyaJIt is such a good game. I’m going to be urging my buddies that didn’t play it on PlayStation to pick it up! Hopefully the Nvidia related bugs get patched up soon though.
I have got it going, Proton Experimental with NVIDIA 3060. Playing on medium to high settings.
Saves having to boot my PS4 up, which has been put away with all my other consoles. This game is absolutely stunning, a fantastic port to PC. Seeing the Steam Deck running it so well, is amazing. I'm in two minds to get a Steam Deck, as majority of games that can in Steam Deck, can run just fine on Desktop.
It was running fine for me yesterday but has crashed multiple times today. It's hard to tell if it's because of something in Proton or if it's just the game itself, especially when some Windows users are getting crashes too. Hopefully some patches will iron things out.
