Someone exported the matrix demo (magnet:?xt=urn:btih:fgzdm32lgnurbextst2o3jll2sdplyuh), and I got it running in Proton, but it either doesn't detect the graphics card or the nvidia driver just doesn't support nanite mesh. As a result, none of the nanite meshes load.

ICYMI: NVIDIA are also working with Valve to get Gamescope working on their drivers.

Did they even get Wayland working with their drivers? Last time I looked, it was a no-go in KDE. I admittedly haven't looked in a while though.

It's kind of odd timing because a lot more Chromebooks ran on x86 architecture a few years ago. I'd say maybe even the majority did, but as Google pushed for more integration with Android apps, it also made sense to gradually shift Chromebooks more to ARM. Steam on ChromeOS made sense more in 2017 than it does now. I even have an x86 Chromebook that will stop receiving updates this June. I've already had it in dev mode for quite some time, and it will switch to a full-time Linux laptop pretty soon.

People believe a lot of the propaganda because it confirms a lot of what they already believed. That's why it's so effective. After all, a lot of the people who make the propaganda are just regular people too, not cunning masterminds who brainwash the masses. It's something that has persisted in my country (America) for decades.

They're good ports but not perfect. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is still receiving updates that Feral hasn't added. They could go back and update all their games, but it's probably not profitable at this point.

Wine/Proton is an open source solution, while Feral's wrapper was not. Dare I say this is a better solution?

Is it maybe time to rethink what "supporting Linux" means? Many devs are now purposefully tuning their games to make sure they work in Proton, which is a free and open source Linux program. By supporting Proton, aren't they, by extension, supporting Linux?

My dream would be Torchlight and Torchlight 2 updated with Steam Deck support. As of now, they don't even support controllers, so I'm not holding my breath.

I don't know if a paywall is the only way, but you are right about it being similar to DRM. Sweeney is basically saying it's not in his financial interest to make it work. People defending him are saying he's right, but being right about the technical limitations doesn't preclude him from finding another method. It's all about money.

The question is, how badly do you want to play Fortnite? If you had to provide your government ID and a face scan to match, would you? That way if people report you for cheating, your real life self could get banned. There are other methods besides AC software that can discourage cheating, but Epic would have to be willing to try them. But to quote a famous rapper, "If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense," and Epic is all about that money.
