It crashed for me the first time after the opening scene. I switched to DX12 and have been fine since, not sure if that was actually necessary or if it was just a one-time glitch.

Quoting: Mountain ManI've wishlisted it, but I'm not going to be an early adopter. I'll let others take that risk, and if the user reviews are positive, then I'll buy.I would recommend all Nvidia users wait. Even if it's Steam Deck verified, that only guarantees it works on AMD.
itch.io are hosting a big Indie Bundle for Abortion Funds

Now I suppose the argument is over whether a fetus is a person with rights to be carried to term and whether it's acceptable to take away the rights of the person carrying the fetus. Sadly, the supreme court seems interested in taking away rights rather than granting them. They've already attacked the "right to remain silent" when arrested and are now taking aim at the right to vote in the gerrymandering case they're about to hear. You can bet that "Critical Race Theory" and other issues on the white supremacist agenda will be up for debate too.
You could make arguments about "state rights," but anyone with half a brain can see that's just a mirage for instituting fascism through the back door. It really is just about control, and while it's being driven by Republicans, Democrats have been complicit all along for fear of losing their own power. Honestly, and not to belittle the situation, abortion is kind of low on the list in terms of freedoms Americans should be worried about losing.

Quoting: slaapliedjeNow that being said, the reason I put 'voted' in quotes is because of recently in Utah everyone voted for marijuana to be legal here. Instead the government pretty much just said 'well... it'll sort of be legal. You have to have an ailment on this very limited list, and you're not allowed to use it just for fun... or for anything besides this tiny list...' So even though the majority ruled, the ones who actually write the laws didn't pass any of the ones that were voted for."Majority rule" is only one part of American "democracy." The other part of it is minority rights, that all people have the right to life, liberty and property. Unfortunately, most of American history has been spent arguing over what a person even is. This is a country that literally had laws saying a slave represented three-fifths of a person. There are even legal arguments for and against a corporation being treated as a "person."
Inevitably Utah is one that had a 'trigger' law, that had basically been in place 'just in case' Roe v Wade was overturned. Papa Gov knows best, right?

Quoting: EhvisI'm wondering about the "anti-aliasing" bit. This is what I've always been interested in. Can you render at normal resolution and just use it as a form of anti-aliasing. Would the results be good?Well, DLSS replaces TAA, so I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to think that FSR2 could replace it. I actually prefer the way DLSS looks compared to TAA.
Replacing TAA sounds a bit worrying though. As I understood from a tech discussion by Star Citizen devs (in response to making TAA optional), TAA often includes more than just anti-aliasing and can be very hard to separate from other rendering features. If so, that may hinder adoption.

Quoting: dudeIt's pointless. The Bitter Nerd Brigade knows no forgiveness, only anger.Quoting: DrMcCoyLarian make just great games, I finished both DO:S on Linux. Some of the greatest games ever made.Quoting: Perkeleen_VittupääI see the first one had native Linux support but Divinity II does notWhich is part of the reason I'm not giving Larian any money anymore, yes.
They completely fucked up Linux support for Divinity: Original Sin, then had it there for the Enhanced Edition, but by then they already started on Divinity: Original Sin II and didn't merge anything back. Just an utter clown car of a company.
One must be able to forgive and look forward.
Both games are still my favorites.
NVIDIA stable driver 515.48.07 out now, Gamescope improvements and more

Quoting: STiATActually, the Nvidia open source driver DOES implement HDMI FRL (https://github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules/blob/main/src/nvidia-modeset/src/nvkms-hdmi.c#L2064 [External Link]).The plot thickens.
This is legally more than questionable. I don't know if that slipped through when putting the drivers open source, or if they had some legal agreement with the HDMI Forum... but that well could end up in court.

Quoting: TheRiddickSo, how does the Steam Deck manage to run Wayland well, or is it only using it for Gamescope and then using Xorg in desktop mode?Quoting: 14Still, "trash" is pretty harsh for something that overall does work reliably in my experience.Maybe if you actually USED Wayland as for power desktop and gaming needs then you will think differently.
Pretty much ALL desktop environments work pretty good if you do very light desktop stuff and minimal gaming!

Quoting: TheRiddickI might need to switch to a NVIDIA card since I just found out my AMD card is not ALLOWED to do HDMI2.1.Isn't the plan for Nvidia to eventually replace their proprietary driver with the open source one, and if so, wouldn't that put you in the same boat?
I was running ycb420 this whole time thinking it was RGB, lmao.
The HDMI2.1 standard needs more open minded people running the show!

Quoting: TheRiddickYeah IMO Wayland is still years away from prime time. You mean until Nvidia catches up, right?
I was thinking maybe 1 year but its just such a trash experience in many ways. At least for Plasma.
The only other option is GNOME which is a little better. Until all the other WM/DE catch up its always going to be rather experimental. (and also all apps need to support it)

So, this works on X? I thought Wayland support was still incomplete for Nvidia.
