I wish I knew the secret for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. It's listed as playable, but I can't even get it to start on my machine, or any other Origin+Steam game.

My dream would be Torchlight and Torchlight 2 updated with Steam Deck support. As of now, they don't even support controllers, so I'm not holding my breath.
Epic Games CEO says a clear No to Fortnite on Steam Deck

The question is, how badly do you want to play Fortnite? If you had to provide your government ID and a face scan to match, would you? That way if people report you for cheating, your real life self could get banned. There are other methods besides AC software that can discourage cheating, but Epic would have to be willing to try them. But to quote a famous rapper, "If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense," and Epic is all about that money.

Quoting: GuestAnticheat is so dumb. It's just like DRM... The only thing that reliable stops cheating is a paywall, but that of course would destroy games like fortnite. The only remotely acceptable anticheat is VAC anyway. That one doesn't need access to your credit card either.I don't know if a paywall is the only way, but you are right about it being similar to DRM. Sweeney is basically saying it's not in his financial interest to make it work. People defending him are saying he's right, but being right about the technical limitations doesn't preclude him from finding another method. It's all about money.

Quoting: robertosf92Tim Sweeney's comments came about at a time when he was battling apple for the right to distribute software in places other than the App Store. I don't think he cares about linux tbh.Right. He cares about money. If he thinks there's money to be made with the Steam Deck, he'll probably consider supporting it. He'd probably consider supporting a toaster if it could make him some cash.

Cloud gaming also offers the ability to play on mobile devices, so even people who have a PC or console but are travelling would be able to to play.

Quoting: devlandCloud gaming makes as much sense as working full time in the metaverse with a headset on your face all day. It doesn't. Never has.Your logic doesn't track. The minimum Stadia requirements are 10 Mbps. There are people who can afford that who definitely can't afford a gaming PC and maybe not even a console.
If you can afford a fast and stable internet connection then you can afford a console or medium end PC.

Kind of funny to see Rocket League on there when it's no longer even available for sale. Valve is definitely "being the bigger man" in their conflict with Epic.

So far I'm loving it. The very first time I started it, performance was really low, not sure why. I restarted it, and it worked well. With DLSS, it's excellent.

Upping the memory is one thing, but this appears to effectively be a different GPU. Why not just change the name? It's only going to cause confusion for people thinking they're buying one thing and ending up with another, especially in aftermarket sales.

It's interesting that they have a fix for audio in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I've never even been able to get that game to launch.
Two years on, Stadia seems to have no direction left

Quoting: Liam DaweIt was the same thing that held back Steam Machines when they were first released. Valve learned from that and is relying heavily on Proton to make sure Steam Decks can run Windows games. It seems like Google is kind of living in a bubble on this. They need to sweeten the pot somehow even if it means sharing revenue. Offer Steam or GOG keys for games people buy on Stadia. That way customers are at least guaranteed they'll still own their games if Stadia vanishes.Quoting: GuestI actually think what held it back from attracting game publishers is linux and vulkan. It probably would have had a better time attracting big publishers with a Windows based solution since the effort of putting games on the service would have been lower. I expect to get a lot of flak from linux stans for that opinion but it needs saying. Not sure why anyone would disagree really, the technical side of that is 100% true. Porting to a new platform and API takes a lot more time than adjusting a Windows release to talk to Stadia services.
