Quoting: pete910Nice improvement! Every little helps.

Really wish Vulkan would be more widely used tbh. More chance of us Linux people getting a port too.
To be fair, there are more games with Vulkan support than DirectX 12 support. I'd say that's progress.

Quoting: PeciskTheir current version for Linux is very playable, I feel even performance have been improved.
Oh then i have to test one more time against my config.
I couldn't play much because of performance on my [email protected] (Core i7 4th quad, GT750, 16Go, SSD).

I did not follow the progress on this game but did you see better performance when they upgraded Unreal Engine or did they work on optimizations ?
If you are, in fact, using a GT 750M and not a GTX 750, your video chip is well below the system requirements for the game.

Having said that, I wouldn't say performance is perfect even on my GTX 970. There are places where the framerate drops, but those are rare. Overall, it's been pretty decent for me. I turn some settings down to keep it steady at 60 FPS, which is just my preference.

F1 2017 released for Linux as Feral Interactive’s first Vulkan-only title, here’s a port report

People need to realize that a game that wasn't designed to run on Linux (and Vulkan) will likely never be able to equal or surpass Windows performance unless the developers rewrite the code for Linux themselves. This is a port done by a third party where they let their DX11 to Vulkan translating thingamajig (yeah I know nothing about the code, obviously) do the work.

I'm not saying that's good or bad for Linux, but it's the reality. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this since Feral has used the same process for all their games. Is it because the word "Vulkan" is being used? That doesn't change the fact that it's still a DX11 game. If you can't settle for less than DX11 performance, you'll have to play it on Windows.

Looks like a Linux version of A Hat in Time might actually be coming

Quoting: DolusI've heard UE3 is a real pain in the ass to port. Hope this sees the light of day.
I've heard the pain just starts in the ass and then spreads through the whole body. :D

Bastion on Steam has been updated to use FNA

Now if I can only get the game to run at 2560x1080 resolution, I'll be all set. WSGF has a solution [External Link] for the Windows version. Does anyone know how to fix it on Linux?
