It's easy to dismiss this and say, "Oh, I'll just use another browser." I'm writing this on LibreWolf at this moment. The problem is that so much of the Web is now centered around Chrome, and Google is dictating the architecture of the Web more than W3C or anyone else. The real danger is that websites might fundamentally change right along with Chrome and force you to use AI features for basic functionality.

It's funny because people weren't asking for a free-to-play, online Skate game. They wanted Skate 4, and the fact that they keep announcing that Linux and Steam Deck aren't supported also shows enough people are asking for Linux support for them to notice.

I should be shocked that it took them so long, but I'm not. Also, it'll be interesting to see what "full support" really means. So much happens behind the scenes. I wonder if Valve played any part in this, especially with all their new rumored hardware on the horizon.

I have a Chromebook, but it stopped receiving updates years ago, so I put a regular Linux distro on it (can't remember which one). As it's an x86 Chromebook, Steam runs perfectly on Linux. Since then I've also been Degoogling. I don't even use Google as a search engine anymore. I used to think their using Linux would be good for us, but boy was I wrong!

It's nice that they provide the packages to get it working, but they could simplify it with just one metapackage called "gaming" or something. That would quiet a lot of backlash.

Interesting. I would assume the DMCA came from a manufacturer of some of the obviously-identifiable-but-unlicensed car models, and instead it came from someone who copied a design of some car, who thought that a model of someone else who copied a design of the same car was his own. emoji emojiIt looks like they had that part of it covered from the beginning.

I can't figure out how to get steam games to work with the new configuration system, which is what this GUI uses. It still works when I use the legacy environment variables though.

Why always online? Skate, Skate 2 and Skate 3 were perfectly fun offline. I don't understandIt's basically an MMO. It's a multiplayer game with the Skate name, so it won't be similar to the singleplayer experience of the previous games. Skate as we knew it is officially dead. Hopefully, another developer will come along and make a true spiritual successor to Skate.
