The quote above doesn't say anything about fixing the issues that made the game bad, only adding content as if they were pleased with the original game despite the criticism.
Valve Rep Confirms Why Some Games Have Their SteamOS Icon Removed

Quoting: Crazy PenguinI have asked several publishers/developers what is going on, but they have been surprised as I'm. At least the responded that they will continue to support Linux :)Come on now. When has Valve ever done anything in a way that didn't confuse customers and developers? It's how they roll. Remember the whole "Witcher 3 Coming to SteamOS; oh oops, maybe not" fiasco? I'm convinced the whole company is run by 4 nerds in a basement, but somehow in the end, it all works out just fine. This issue probably will too.
Not to mention the confused Customers, we have several threads where people asking about the Linux support. If it is discontinued now. Some have flamed already against some developers for it. Well done, Valve! Well done!
Valve Looks Like It's Removed The SteamOS Icon For Games That Work On Linux, But Not Perfectly On SteamOS

I agree with a lot of the concerns about the future of Linux support on steam and also with the idea that SteamOS needs quality control. I think the one thing we need to keep in mind, however, is that the removal is probably temporary.
All those devs have to do is make sure their games are updated to meet Valve's new standards. I'm sure they've been notified. The devs that actually care about Linux and steamos sales will patch their games.

Magicka 2 Looks Like It Will Have Lower Performance On AMD Cards

Quoting: subI'm not a game developer here, so this is more of a question than a statement. But wouldn't coding for a particular card only be the case when you're adding functionality specific to that card (proprietary things like Nvidia's PhysX)? Other than that, shouldn't common OpenGL functions work the same on both cards? These are open standards that both drivers should meet...right?A developer: I took the liberty of replacing the Nvidia 660GTX in my Linux machine for our Radeon 270X and ran some tests.Doesn't this statement, again, shows that many developers develop on Nvidia first, then try with an AMD card and are disappointed - or even blame AMD for bad performance?

Regarding your "point", you've made none, so there's really nothing left to say. If you want to show me a Feral or Aspyr port that has performed equal to or better than the Windows version, then we can talk.

Quoting: Mountain ManI see you've realized that you can "like" your own comments. That's cute. That seems to be your speciality: assuming (that and making condescending remarks with no knowledge to back it up).
Since you apparently have nothing more to say, I'll assume you concede the point and will wish a good day.

You're basically saying you only care about how it makes you feel (benchmarks don't matter), and you don't care about how well it works for anyone else. [sarcasm]You're a real team player.[/sarcasm] If you're satisfied with mediocre gaming performance, have fun with that, but don't hate on other people's excitement about an upcoming game.

Quoting: Mountain ManSo, I need a large sample size to make my "declaration", but you only need your own opinion to make yours? LOL Nice.Quoting: melkemindVP's performance track record is now better than both Aspyr and Feral (as much as the people on this site probably don't want to hear that). There's not anywhere near a big enough sample size to make that declaration. I've been very happy with what Aspyr and Feral have done to date. I know Shadows of Mordor lagged behind Windows in terms of performance, but I still get great framerates, and the game is rock-solid stable, so I really don't care about comparative benchmarks.

I think this is actually good news. I'm to the point now where I would almost prefer a VP port for a game over another third party company. Obviously, I'd still like a native port if it's done in-house, but VP's performance track record is now better than both Aspyr and Feral (as much as the people on this site probably don't want to hear that). I don't care how a game gets to Linux. I just want it to be the best it can be when it gets here.

This may mean nothing, but the Deep Silver games we already have are The Metro Series, Dead Island, Wasteland 2 and This War of Mine. Aren't they all native ports?

Quoting: linuxgamerNice, I want all of them!It could be one of those, or it could be an in-house port. If they port their engine to Linux, porting each game would just be a formality (not saying it would be quick an easy, of course).Quoting: burnallWho might be porting all of these?I suspect VP or Aspy as they don't seem to be on Ferals radar.
