Wasn't quite expecting this sort of problem, though.

due to it hitting GitHub's rate-limit and blocking it.I may have mentioned before how heroic's tendency to go out and connect to stuff online willy-nilly, without a simple switch to disable it, was starting to bug me.

Also going to be available on gog, though the page there doesn't indicate a linux version yet.
Not to be confused with Forsaken Quarted, which, um, lies in a different "classic" genre.

I wonder what the terms on user creations are?Took a peek at the 3rd party eula on their steam page to find out. Nothing there yet (not even a eula), but the mere fact that there is going to be one puts a dampener on my interest.

Edit: correction, the last real one was number 20 from six years ago.

This is all starting to make me feel really old now. The third Humble Indie Bundle was really 14 years ago?Wait until you realise that the last humble indie bundle (a real drm-free+linux+charity one, number 21) was five years ago.

Myst: Masterpiece Edition, Riven (1997) and Myst III: Exile get upgraded and now Steam Deck Verified

Never thought I would say this, but I have been getting a bit disenchanted with heroic lately.
It works awesome, and I even vastly prefer it over the steam client, but then I run into annoying papercuts in configurability.
First pet peeve: no offline switch. Keeping heroic from phoning to everything (from the shops to the proton/wine repository) has to be done with a brute-force method such as disabling one's internet connection.
Second pet peeve: no option to disable creepy playtime tracking. For some weird reason disabling the playtime sync is deemed sufficient.

I am curious what the performance on this older hardware is, I imagine it's not running the ray-tracing?Performance on vega64 is 50-60 fps at 720p medium, 5700xt over 70fps at 1080p medium. From what I gather, it is running the global illumination, but not the more performance-destroying path tracing stuff.

Not sure about fsr4, though. If the ps5pro's version had been identical, one could have been confident of dev support. As it is now? Not sure. Maybe if sony manages to port it properly.

I have been thinking if I get a new gpu to go AMD this time though, which is a shame because I don't want to give up things like dlss and good RT performanceAmd seems to be catching up fairly well in those departments. Rt is still not as good as latest gen nvidia, but I expect the upcoming 9060 series' rt to be a step up compared to the 2060's.

Personally, I am pleasantly surprised it didn't turn them into cynical bastards who decided to punish all of us (since paying fans of the original are a tiny minority) and still offer a drm-free version.

Since they have changed their FAQ, let us not forget them going Ooblets on us during the exclusivity period:Their only fault was in not realising that too many gamers nowadays suffer from a distinct lack of a sense of humour and/or take themselves far too seriously. Not to mention an empathy deficit for the insane piracy numbers of their first title.
