I have over 50 games in my backlog and then I stopped counting.. >_>
I'm really looking forward to this release. There are too few quality RPGs out there that focus more on story and RP.

Quoting: EikeWhere am I supposed to take all the time to play Tides of Numenera, Wasteland 3, Divnity Original Sin 2, Bard's Tale IV and Pillars of Eternity 2?!?Are you complaining about that?

Quoting: ellie_feralYou'll be able to play the single-player game offline. But there's plenty of online content too, like Elusive Targets. You'll get to enjoy all that too, just like the Windows lot. Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks for the heads up Liam.
However, I don't kickstart games anymore, unless on very rare occasion where the company has a very good track record.

Quoting: AryvandaarSo basically once they shutdown their serves you can no longer play?I was reading about reports from mid-early last year and steam reviews, but I couldn't find any info if it has been fixed since then.
Think I'll skip this one then, properly wont have time to play anytime soon and it would suck to be unable to play because the auth server was no longer profitable.

I've been looking forward to this game since I heard the announcement, but what I've read about the game is not good. What I've read is that the game kicks people out of the game cause of the always online DRM, and if the servers are offline (which have happened) you can't use your saves.
I tried searching more on these issues but I couldn't find any definitive answers if it has been fixed or not. Does anyone know?

Quoting: Luke_NukemI tend to agree. But then I get conflicted by my hardliners stance on "if it's not ported or supported on linux".. seriously though, what motivation does a publisher have if the game runs fine under wine? None, really. They'd expend x amount of effort for little/no gain - I suspect this is exactly what Bethesda thinks, and it sucks shit.Okay.

2. Install vulkan on your linux system.
3. Install doom on steam in wine.
4. set launch option for doom "+r_renderAPI 1".
The problem is that if I'm going to take a hard stance on Linux gaming I won't be able to play some of my favourite games. I have enough moral laws to add Linux gaming to that list. I will play whatever games I like and can on Linux, but if there is no Linux version I will just play the Windows version.
I already boycott a lot of publishers and developers because of their anti-consumer practices.

Quoting: Luke_Nukem1. Install steam on play on linux with latest wine staging.Quoting: AryvandaarI know right. But that's not officially supported, not native, and means fucking around with wine running another Steam install..Quoting: Luke_NukemI would trade this a thousand times over for a naive Doom 4 port, with Vulkan...You can run DOOM in WINE almost perfectly with Vulkan enabled in steam launch options.

Quoting: aFoxNamedMorrisThe problem is that would require putting money toward the Windows version. That, in turn, damages the Linux gaming ecosystem, albeit in a small way. But a lot of smaller things add up to much bigger things.I highly doubt that Bethesda will port their games to Linux any time soon, if at all.
