Aspyr Media confirm cross-platform multiplayer for Civilization VI with the next patch

Quoting: KimyrielleI am a huge Civ fan, but it's honestly not a game I'd play multiplayer. Turn-based games and multiplayer don't mix very well IMHO. Still good to see this implemented for the people who wanted it. :)
Multi-player in TBS games is very fun with a few friends imo. At least it's fun until Ghandi kills everyone.

F1 2016 won't be coming to Linux, as sales of F1 2015 weren't strong enough

For racing games, what is it that justifies a new title every year? What makes this one so different from the 2015 version?

I could say a lot of things about re-hashed mechanics in series like Assassin's Creed, but at least each game had a new story with new / improved upon characters.

Total War: WARHAMMER II announced and it sounds like it may see Linux support

Still haven't been able to play the first with my games backlog. xD

Steam now has a bunch of Anime shows you can buy, also a sale on Anime games

Assuming you are okay with all the other problems mentioned in the comments: you can get entire seasons in bundles.
Yeah, but I don't really buy series unless I really love them. For everything else there is streaming.

Strategy game 'Cossacks 3' will have a Linux beta on Friday and I have a key for one lucky person

Quoting: liamdaweWell it is obvious if they put out a Linux beta, they want to support Linux to get more sales isn't it? They go hand in hand.
Yes, of course, I just find the wording to be too misleading. Now that I read the article and announcement again I see that they wrote "open beta", which is even worse than to use that "public beta" and only having it available for people who own the game. I don't think I need to explain what "open beta" means. The entire industry use it, as a limited kind of free demo.

Quoting: liamdaweI think this is being a little pedantic here, but I get the jist of what you're saying.
I may just as well be wrong, but the cynic in me tell me that it's a tactic to get more people to buy the game, which is why I pointed it out. Any tactic that companies use to try to feel players that they "have to" buy a game miss out on something cool, is something I'm against. As I said first, I could just as well be wrong, but seeing how the gaming industry is at this point, is it so weird to be cautious and a bit cynical?

Quoting: AryvandaarDoesn't public beta mean available for all?
Yes, all who own it. It's still a commercial game.
Yeah I know. I was just raising a few eyebrows at what looks like wrong use of words, which in turn could be misleading. If a beta is behind a paywall, is it a "public beta" then?

Quoting: STiATWhat I'm rather wondering:

What's up to Ashes of the Singularity? Didn't hear of that game in quite a while now (9 Month?). Seems as this one will not see any release in Linux. And that one I was REALLY looking forward to.
I think they are waiting for Vulkan to get more development.
