If this is true, that's impressive. Even if the 82% are way off and it's 10% left, getting >40 hours is pretty good.

When you see controllers/games demonstrated at any sort of press conference or convention, the controllers are usually wired. I guess they just want to make sure they don't run out of battery or avoid interference with the next booth.

On the other hand, smaller studios that use their own engines seem to have a far harder time with native Linux support, like Larian and CDPR. I guess the Serious Engine (Talos Principle, Serious Sam 3) by Croteam is a counter-example, don't know how those studios compare in size, or how their engines compare in complexity and reliance on middleware.
In addition, for a less known indie dev it may well be a bigger advantage to tap into the less crowded Linux market. Just write something nice about Linux on some blog or twitter, and every Linux gaming site will talk about you and your game.

As for the Steam surveys, I think it's important to beware of confirmation bias. I have read so often on Linux gaming forums that the survey pops up less often on Linux, everyone seems to just accept it, but I've never seen proper statistics. If I started steam on wine now and got the survey, I'd be tempted to see that as confirmation, but the plural of anecdote isn't data. And going by the data we have from devs who published their sales per platform, Linux usually comes out at 1-3%, which is actually fairly in line with the Steam survey, considering that the Linux community has fewer games to choose from and is probably on average more active than the millions of Windows users who logged in once.
But whether or not the Steam survey is biased, Valve must have access to more relevant data, such as money spend per platform (this one really seems the most important), games bought per platform, players logged in per platform. After all, they anyway determine what platform a sale is assigned to. And I'd be surprised if EA couldn't get that data, I highly doubt they base business decision solely on some potentially flawed and limited Steam hardware survey.

For EA games it's not just the engine, it's also Origin that would need to be ported.

I played this for a bit when it first came out, and I played with a DS4 controller without issues.
I agree that getting out of the first town was confusing, not only is it sometimes hard to see where you can walk and what's a wall due to the art style, but what's more, I'm pretty certain the game tells you to go west, but you have to go to the right edge of the screen. Later on the world map it looks like west is left like usual, but in that first town west is right, so I kept running up and down the left edge of the screen for a while. Or rather walking, game needs a run button.
I actually thought it's quite fun otherwise. The whole stamina and aggro mechanic is interesting. I just haven't had time to play more.
