That is nice. I am still waiting for a good vr headset for a normal price. Max 500 bucks with amazing optics.
We aren't there yet so seems it will be a few more years before I get one.
Let's hope by the time we see Half-Life 3 in VR the headset's are better priced.

I wonder when we can play DOOM Eternal with MESA and ACO.
I can currently play it with the official AMD drivers and LLVM but still...
I also kinda gave up playing the game where I encountered a insane platforming part where I just keep failing and when you fail, you have to start all over again.
And in this part you need to do 8 to 10 platforming jumps and swings before you land at a checkpoint. Frustrated me to no end so I kinda ragequitted.
I want to shoot stuff, not play a fake Super Mario...

Played the demo. It was very fun but some of the platforming required extremely precise timing. But I as a platformer noob managed to do it though. The developer said he did/will adjust some of the platforming puzzles which was a bit too hard to pull of right.
Defo got this game wish-listed.

Quoting: GuestNow that MESA is complete let's hope they have more time to fix some annoying niche bugs, like for example the ambient occlusion bug in Two Point Hospital (and Parkitekt i think?).Yes, that ambient occlusion bug I have noticed in those games as well. Hope they can get that fixed.
Steam for Linux was started by ex-Microsoft developers

I also was frustrated with the inconsistent design. Some parts are made for tablet users, other parts are made for the good old PC day's, it was and still is a big mess.
I also don't care about any of those useless UWP apps that Microsoft made. I just want a desktop designed for the PC with a consistent design everywhere. I also hated how theming is impossible on Windows. Sure, you can apply a 3rd part crack that enables some theming but with Windows there is a high chance of that patch breaking your system or the next Windows Update will break it or will make your theme stop working.
So Linux for me. It fixes all of the above problems and I get a lof of new stuff that is cool. Only downside is that some multiplayer games don't work, but all in all, it is perfect.

Quoting: 14Yup, I left about a year ago because if the builtin spyware. I also was constantly redoing my system tweaks where most of them got reverted after a big update for Windows was release.Quoting: HoriSpyware was a big part of it, but also a lot of choice was taken away in Windows. Windows tried to follow Mac's ease-of-use designs which ended up taking away several configuration choices. I like to say that the idea of running Windows didn't feel like it would be my computer anymore. Running Linux very much makes it feel like my computer again.Quoting: PangaeaWindows IS still going in the wrong direction. Long may it continue. But why tho?
What is the reason we "hate" Windows? Is it just because, or is it because it's going in a wrong direction?
Wouldn't it be better for everyone if it just started to go in a good direction instead?
Of course this is not likely to happen, but it's a valid question.
I for one wouldn't care for Linux growth if Windows would be a decent, non-spyware OS. Tho that doesn't mean I'd switch, far from it.
FWIW, I suspect Microsoft handles private data better than companies like Google and Facebook. I'm not sure so they'd go to bat against the government like Apple has though, especially since they've had a long history of government contracts.

Life is Strange 2 releases for Linux on December 19

Quicker then expected! I already finished it just last week with Proton though.
Was not as good as Life is Strange, and the story was a bit weak and a lot of stereotypes everywhere, but the ending scene was worth it though.

A bit too late for me. Already played all the episodes with Proton and performance is rock solid for me on 1080p with my RX580.
But would be nice to see how the performance compares later.
As for LiS2, I liked the original a lot better. This one is pretty 'meh'.
But still, it's a nice game to burn some time with.
Get it when it is on sale. Not worth the full price IMHO.

I still got the old 4.19-GE-1 with the mfplat fixes built in luckily. So I will be using that for a while until games somehow really need a newer one.
It's s shame he had to remove it but I understand the reason.

And you are right, and I read it everywhere as well, you need to tweak the controller per game for the best experience, but I just want to launch a game and it just has to work perfect out of the box. I don't want to tweak my controller per game for the right settings.
So in that, I guess the controller just is not for me.

Quoting: PatolaA small question from your testimony tho: you said you miss the feedback from using the joystick in FPS. How do you deal with the springy joystick to aim? Don't you get irritated in trying to fixate the cursor in a point and it trying to leave that point? What do you mean with springy joystick? I can't remember having issues aiming or the controller/aim drifting of when I focus on a point on the screen.
