So I had to edit the settings file myself and then reboot.
I was hoping for pixel perfect scaling...

Quoting: damarrinWell, then, don't let us know what you think of the latest release. It sure is. On my main machine I tried it on my third monitor which is my TV, I was able to set it, but after not liking the results (the only thing this scaling does is render the UI at 150% and badly at that, text is blurry), I could not revert it back with the display manager. It would hang every time.

So if you expected good scaling where font's look like it was rendered natively...
Nope.
I was exited at first as well until I saw the cheap hack they basically did. Totally unusable in this state.

Quoting: omicron-bDon't be too impressed. I tried the feature and all it does is render the desktop/UI at 150% together with blurry font.Fractional scaling support, and each monitor can be scaled differently.Wow, am I right that no other DE has this?

Well, this week I finally got a steam survey. The last time I got one, I was still on Windows. So now finally, since November 2018, I am also counted as a Linux user.
Valve really should just sent out a survey for once to all active users. That way we get a proper look.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI suggest Valve that Windows only games must have the current 30% cut, but games with a Linux version should have only a 5% cut...I literally was thinking that this morning while reading this article. I mean, with such a low steam cut for the Linux version, I am sure many developers would make their game in such a way that it was extremely easy to port it.

4k is nice, but I rather have a lower resolution and next-gen graphics.

Quoting: drlambDigital Foundry [External Link] have also noted this is a 1440P demo, at 30FPS as already noted.1440p is perfectly fine for me together with proper anti-aliasing, it looks perfect.

Playing Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance and after having played Shadow of the Tomb Raider at launch back on Windows, I am playing it again since somehow my save from Windows is gone.
It has been a long time since the game released so I can finally replay the game again on the Linux port.

That said, I can't enjoy the game anymore. The graphics of the faces are so lifeless, I can't take it seriously. The game did not age well.

Quoting: m2mg2Has anyone played GTA IV in a 64 bit prefix? I thought GTA IV would only launch 32 bit and proton was only 64 bit?I tested out the game and it ran like a charm. I don't know if I was running 32b or 64b, I did not changed anything and it just worked.
