- game updated with latest patches
- compatibility with modern OS/Hardware configuration
You will save time, fewer adjustments, they have already done the work for you.
And don't forget that you'll find plenty of script installers on Lutris for older games that also make your Linux gamer's life easier.

Quoting: tpauIf you still have games that are only available on physical media or isos, you should ask gog or the publisher for a digital edition.Another advantage is that GOG has already improved the game for you:
Cdrom and DVD are deteriorating and falling apart over time.

Quoting: GuestNot necessary, latest Yuzu and Citra sources/builds are available on Internet Archives, same for others open source projects like re3 or revc.Quoting: jordicomaI build one, and it works. But now we also need someone to continue with citra like this. There are no other 3ds emulators at the level of citra (for now).I have citra's source code if anyone wants it...

Steam has a similar service with Geforce Now, but you do not have access to all your games, it depends on devs authorizations.
Soon we will no more need a gaming console, nor install or tweak games, to play games on Linux, we will just need a good internet connection. And we will no more need to buy expensive hardware, like graphic card, with Geforce Now you can play on your TV in 4K/60fps/RayTracing if you have a good internet connection.

Quoting: PenglingThis particular one's just an emulated PlayStation title. Are you sure about that? There was a true Windows version out in 2000:

I will buy this game when it will be remastered with a quality as good as Tomb Raider I-II-II remasters.
For the moment, gaming experience MGS1 is better with PS1 Duckstation emulator.

Yuzu agrees to pay Nintendo $2.4 million and will entirely shut down (Citra for 3DS too)

Quoting: tuxer415This lawsuit is kinda wrong. It's Yuzu team that is stupid in this case, they made a lot of mistakes that are legally blameworthy.
What if you OWN a legally physical copy of GC/WII/3DS/SWITCH and you want to transfer your backup to your compurter and play it with an emulator for better-native resolution with your monitor screen with higher graphics.
Nintendo should release an emulator that validates ISO legallity somehow and then play it on your computer with no problem
Nintendo is stupid.
Now downloads could take place in torrents instead of direct links.

If Yuzu was able to pay $2.4 million, is it because their Patreon brought in that much? If Nintendo made their catalog of games, old and new, available to other platforms, there wouldn't be as much piracy. But they persist in the model which no longer has a future. The (near) future is to make a catalog of games available to all platforms, on mobile phones, tablets, computers, etc. through the cloud.
