Quoting: wojtek88According to my knowledge Steam OS is missing important boot feature - booting machine on remote controller button press. I can't imagine living without that functionality on my living room's pc after I started to use ps4. Without that functionality, for me, it's still pc, not a console experience.
This is something I also hope can be sorted, it's not a major issue, but convenience is what these machines are supposed to be all about.
I don't agree it's not major. For me it's major :).
It's a difference of what button turns the unit on, I don't see that as a major issue, but a convenience issue.
Ok I agree Liam that this is a convenience issue. But for me - a major one :).

SteamOS beta update brings in a new Nvidia driver with Vulkan support
19 Feb 2016 at 8:29 am UTC

Quoting: TheBossVulkan in Talos already beats OpenGL, so actually it would be nice to have it.
I am eager to test it. It will be great to have better performance in Talos Principle.

But wait... I have 540m gt card. I won't be able to use Vulkan before hardware update. Bummer...

Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part II is now available
17 Feb 2016 at 2:22 pm UTC

I have to finish main campaign first. I have only 55 hours in-game and almost whole act in front of me ;). Then White March I and II and then time to upgrade the hardware for titles that are more "resource expensive".

Nvidia release Linux beta driver with Vulkan
16 Feb 2016 at 10:58 pm UTC

They did like they promised. NVidia cards older than 600 series did not get the Vulkan support. Time to upgrade, and flat still needs so much money to be finished... Hard times in front of me ;)

Earth 2160 strategy game released for Linux, powered by Wine

I saw the article and started to think - if it's below 5 euro I'm buying it, especially earth 2150 was the game that I was playing as a child (and I had not a legal copy :( ). When I saw the price I started to think that I should buy at least 7 of copies.
Anyway, game bought and I hope there will be a lot of people buying it as well.

I don't mind old games using Wine, as long as it works well (and Wine generally does for older titles).
Couldn't agree more.

Street Fighter V will release on Linux & SteamOS this Spring time
14 Feb 2016 at 9:44 pm UTC

This will be a free update to all Street Fighter V Steam players and will be released this Spring.
Just keep in mind, that Shadow of Mordor was meant to be released Spring 2015. And it was released on 30th of July. I know that it is different company that is responsible for the port, but still, just a good idea to keep it in mind.

Cities: Skylines to get a free Theme Editor, with way more map customization options
11 Feb 2016 at 2:50 pm UTC

Cities Skylines is great, however on my rig when I have +8 areas unlocked, fps goes around 15 and it starts to be not very good experience.
Also my 3rd city started to loose population because of wrong road design and I started to loose money really quickly so I stopped playing it some time ago. With recent updates and upcoming Snowfall DLC I guess time to build new city has come.

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked DLC is now available on SteamOS & Linux
8 Feb 2016 at 7:44 am UTC

While I have to say I'm little bit skeptical about this DLC, Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together are brilliant! If among us there is someone who browses Linux games looking for one to play and have fun, but has never tried them, he really should!

Regarding DLC - I will give it a try after Pillars of Eternity.
