Quoting: OZSeafordOne question I would have though, oblivious of platform, what games would you have waited for in general, windows games that is? Are there hundreds?
First of all I miss Witcher 3. It's great, it is 2015 GOTY, and it's developed in my country :). This is the game of the year and we just have to be able to play it on our platform.
I cannot wait Batman AK (But I know the Windows port story, which makes me think that Feral will have huge troubles while trying to port the game to Linux).
And I dream about Rockstar games - Max Payne 3 and GTA 5. Saints Row will be reasonable alternative, but still, it's different, especially Saints Row 4.
Of course, titles like Fallout 4 should be delivered to Linux as well, but I can live without this game.

Honestly, in general I also miss porting of the series of good games. We already have Witcher 2, Witcher 3 was anounced, why not to port Witcher 1? Saints row series may be the first try to do that, hope all the games will be ported, let's see.
We have Batman Arkham Knight announced - why not to port 3 previous titles? They are great, consoles do not offer you game experience from first game of the series to last game very often (I can think of Nathan Drake collection + Uncharted 4 on PS4).
And porting the Rockstar series (Max Payne and GTA) would be the icing on the cake.

Quoting: hardpenguinThis article needs a downvote option.
@hardpenguin, sad to read that. Any feedback I can use in future? Are you not interested in this type of article or the language is problematic?

@cheerockie You assumed my native is polish, which is... correct :). But anyway, please stick to english language in this conversation.
I believe you and it makes sense, because Witcher 2 today works well and wrapped version will be cheaper for sure.

Quoting: ziabiceyou forgot the newly released "Bound by flame" action-RPG and "Victor Vran" (if you put Torchlight 2 in the list, this deserves to be in too).
As beginning of the article says, this is my personal list/opinion. "Bound by flame" looks nice, but It's just not the title I would hear of before the release and it by purpose is not listed. Victor Vran was overseen, that's true. Victor Vran, eh. I know @Liam loves it, but I for some reason couldn't start to love it. I don't know why...

Quoting: cheerockieUnfortunately but is very probable, that Witcher 3 will not be released on Linux in native.
I know it from a reliable source...
But is very possible for "wrapper" port (with some CD Projekt RED support) in 2016.
@cheerockie what you are saying is interesting, the question is do you want to have fun or do you really have some reliable source. If so - would you like to share it with us?

Quoting: burnallPersonally, I don't care about KOTOR, but some people like it as many other older games. The problem is, that this kind of games won't attract masses to Linux, they will attract only a tiny amount of fans. Not something to bring average gamer when he is making a decision on a gaming platform for a clear reasons. Big AAA games build a huge hype and if they are day 1 released with icon for SteamOS/Linux as a release platform, it's already doing a lot in favor for SteamOS/Linux. Because way more people will notice it, likely even bigger than actuall user base for linux is, and maybe think about it. So, yes, for a healthy growth we need more AAA titles with a day 1 release. Something what Fallout 4 should already been.
@burnall +1. Couldn't agree more.

Quoting: TheBossWell, Mordor has nothing to do with what Aspyr port, so I don't see it as an issue.
True, what I meant is while waiting for one year old game with shiny graphic, Linux gamers received 10 years old game. Still great, but 10 years old. It was sad moment for me, because I stared to think that this is how it's going to be - we, as a community will be very happy for games that are very old.

Quoting: TheBossYes people were waiting for Mordor, and it did arrive.
True once again. In the end of July everything was great - we had great RPG and great AAA game with nice graphics.
I just wrote what I felt during the year. Like in diary :D.

Quoting: TheBossAgain, why shouldn't it be one of our best games? It's a great RPG.
Sure, KOTOR2 can be one of our best games. I just hope it will be one of many.

Quoting: TheBossAs for Bioshock, it's nothing to do with EON, the config file being edited by people is an engine file Bioshock uses. It also has the same issues on Windows FYI.
My bad. Maybe I wrote it in a wrong way:
Quoting: Wojtek88And many people had freezes in Bioshock Inifinite and Spec Ops: the Line (including me) without tweaking EON configuration file.
Including me refers only to Spec Ops: the Line. To make it freeze less I had to modify EON config file.
Bioshock Infinite has it's issues but I wasn't tweaking it on my machine.

Quoting: KamSoo, you're only interested in AAA games, yet do not have the hardware to run AAA games ?
Long story, sad answer is - yes, unfortunately this is true. Currently I play Witcher 3 on PS4 and I am collecting money to finish the flat in the beginning of the next year :)

Anyway, I extend my library, invest money in all the ports I can support and when my flat is finished I am going to enjoy my whole library on the new Steam Machine (I guess made by my own) in my new Living room :).

Quoting: TheBossI disagree about KOTOR II, we need older titles as much as we need the newer titles. If we don't, we will never win over the "but x game doesn't work on Linux from my library" people. It was also an updated version, not just a basic port of an old game.
Like I said:
Quoting: Wojtek88Of course it is still good game, but it shouldn't be one of the best games in our libraries. It just should be there, as one of many games
When the game was released, most of users on this page was waiting for Shadow of Mordor which was meant to be released on Spring and we were already after half of Summer. What we received was a 10 years old game and no real information from Feral side regarding Shadow of Mordor.

Quoting: TheBossI think people also need to not repeatedly hark on about "wrapped" games. It's a cheap and reasonably effective way to port games to Linux, their ports all perform pretty well, and what ports don't have issues? Every single game I've tested on Linux has an issue somewhere.
I am with you Liam here. I totally agree. That's why I wrote:
Quoting: Wojtek88I have nothing against wrapped titles, as long as they bring good titles to our platform
But why going through calendar I saw Bioshock Inifinite and it just reminded me the shitstorm it started, because everyone had in their mind poor performance of Witcher 2. And many people had freezes in Bioshock Inifinite and Spec Ops: the Line (including me) without tweaking EON configuration file.

Speculation: It looks like the Saints Row series will all launch together on SteamOS & Linux

Hope Valve will push some good deals for Steam Machines on Christmas.
I understand that Valve is not selling Steam Machines themselves, but they do this through 3rd party manufacturers, but imagine how good would be a deal:

For every Steam machine based on the price you have spent on the machine you can choose pack of games supported by the Steam Machines worth 50% of the price you've spent on Steam Machine.

(50 % is just the number I have decided to put here, feel free to imagine different value :D )

And for example you spend 500 dollars on Steam Machine and you can spend 250 dollars on Steam OS compatible titles packs.

You receive packs like:

- all Trine games,
- all Metro games,
- all Saints Row games,
- all Valve games,
- Codemasters bundle (DIRT: Showduwn + GRID Autosport),
- countless number of Indie packs.

Don't you all think that this is the direction they should go in near future? I would say with that attitude they would bring few peoples to Linux gaming, especially those who don't own this games and wonder which platform for gaming should they choose.

Sorry for such a big off-topic :).

Anyway, I've never played Saints Row games and it looks like I know what will I do in near future ;).
Hope this trend (to port the whole series of games) will be what Virtual Programming guys will be used to do. I would love if they would focus on Batman Series and release at the same time as Feral's port of Arkham Knight (I know, I know, AK is a shit ;) ).

Anyway, wish you (and myself) all the best for the upcoming Christmas time!

Quoting: IlyaI'm disappointed with the Alienware GPU not being replaceable
You're not the only one. This hardware looks super nice to me, but with GPU that you cannot replace I'm not going to spend so much money. I already have PS4 (which is super loud :( ) which has similar look and size, but if Alienware would have replaceable GPU (even for other GPU made by them) I would consider their Steam Machine. Now unfortunately it won't happen.
