Alienware Have A New Youtube Series Showing Off Gameplay On Their Steam Machine

I know that they post this videos with games that run nicely (seems that this is more like an element of the sales campaign) but I would love to see both Metro games, Witcher 2, Shadow of Mordor, Cities: Skylines, Borderlands TPS. Just to know how do they work on the hardware before I would decide to order/buy it.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Released For Linux, We Love You Feral Interactive

Just to write comment no. 200 - Few days ago I bought the game on Feral store but I guess I won't be able to even play it because my spec is below minimum and according to Liam's and Samsai's benchmarks game won't be fluent on Low settings.
My spec - NVidia 540m, i5 2410m, 10GB RAM, Ubuntu 14.10.
If I manage to download the game and run it I will share my score.

Quoting: MohandevirMan I love this game! It's my #1 game. Stole the top spot from The Witcher 2.
I wish you (actually all of us :) ) that Witcher 3 will be ported to Linux. This will be #1 game for sure.

DiRT Showdown For Linux Delayed For Polishing

I have mixed feelings I must say. The fact that they want to fix crashes is great. But I don't get one thing - didn't they have crashes during their test phase? Or did they ignore them? Or do they treat you as first class citizen and try to make you happy because of the fact that you have popular page about Linux gaming?

@YoshiTheFox347 I really recommend Don't Starve. It is a game that has most time spent on my steam account (over 120 hours).

Quoting: wojtek88Just like @tuubi I don't understand why to port DiRT Showdown If DiRT 3 is not yet ported. I play DiRT 3 on Wine and it works great except controller support. If DiRT 3 would be ported with good controller support including most popular controllers (Logitech f310, x360 controller, dualschocks) it would be a must to buy game. I would buy yet another copy just to support porting company also.
And even if DiRT 3 would run on eOn port but performance will be like on Wine but controller support will work out of the box - I would pay for it.

DiRT Showdown is in my library (it was in bundle with DiRT 2 and 3 on Humble bundle some time ago) so I will install it to test port quality. But I am not interested in a game and I will not support VP with money this time.
VP bring good DiRT 3 port to Linux!
DiRT 3 has been ported by Feral to Mac fairly recently, so they should do the Linux version, if any.

Btw. i think the decision to let VP do a Linux port is for Codemasters to test how linux sales go in a safe way (for them, since VP ports cost less),
so they see if it's worth porting DiRT 3 and/or DiRT Rally afterwards, since those games have been requested so many times...
If what You're saying is true then choosing this game to port is really wrong choice. Picking old game with poor reviews to test how good sales are sounds like conscious sabotage...

Virtual Programming Have Been Busy, Looks Like They Are Doing The Arma 3 Port

I have to say that I have mixed feelings about VP ports either. But in my opinion we have to wait with final reviews until November. It's obvious that Valve is a party that is most interested in Linux ports and they are pushing developers to make library as big as possible. It is also very important for Valve to have users that are pleased with ports quality.
Having that in mind I would say that we should wait with the final reviews until we see how does eOn perform on November. And unfortunately the most important for VP in my opinion will be how does it perform on SteamOS.
Of course our feedback should be super important for porting companies and according to Liam it is not for VP. I have to say that my issues with eOn were solved by eOn configuration changes, but in November final user will not be as forgiving as we (Linux users) are and I guess manual eOn configuration will not be an option for them.
Regarding general wrapper or native port discussion - of course we prefer native ports. But I definitely prefer wrapper version port than no game (assuming it works and it works well).
Wrapping older titles and natively port newer titles + push developers to use vulkan api = chance to make Linux good gaming platform. And I wish it to all of us.

Maybe it would be good idea to start a forum thread with game performance only? For example hardware spec + someple fps based on the location or screenshots with fps? I don't own a game yet so I cannot lost sample fps but maybe some of You can do it...

Feral Interactive Have Something Up Their Sleeve For Tomorrow

If that's not Shadow of Mordor (and it seems it's not) I will buy PS4 version of that game because there is a very attractive offer in my country for that game. I have decided 1 month ago to buy ps4 in order to play Witcher 3 because I am 100 percent sure it will not be released for Linux this year. I hope I was wrong with Witcher 3 and I hope I am wrong with Shadow of Mordor...

We have Ten Copies Of The Fantastic Victor Vran To Give Away!
27 Jul 2015 at 2:22 pm UTC

I will answer question from the topic this way:
I did not buy Victor Vran yet because I have some doubts is it as good as Liam says (I've read many reviews that this game is not pure gold).
I will be good hunter because I will use my copy to review the game and if it is as good as Liam says I will buy one copy and give it back to community (I mean Liam ;) ) so he will be able to give it to a person with 11th best answer.
