L4D is one of my favourite games, and possibly my most played in my steam library. To this day I still prefer it over L4D2, even though they added the L4D levels to it. Something about the "simplicity" of 1 appeals to me. Just a choice between two styles of weapons, and the rest is up to your squad. 2 felt a bit too cluttered to me.
I'm still curious about what they may do with 3, though frankly I'm doubtful that it will ever see the light of day.

This was made years ago as a HL2 mod called "Overwatch".

It was freaking amazing and some friends and I spent many hours playing it online. I'm hoping they use it as inspiration in some way or another, or have got the original devs on board for this!

The community can simply pack up and move elsewhere with the same clients and carry on.

Quoting: KithopThankfully, IRC (and Matrix and Mastodon listed in the article) are open enough that you can just cut ties and say 'screw it, we're doing our own!', like the Libera.Chat team is doing. While frustrating as a heavy freenode user, I'm looking on the bright side and using whole incident as an example of why open, federated communication protocols are important. What do you do if the owners of discord et al do something the community doesn't like?

Oooo, I've certainly been looking forward to this. Glad to see 4A actually came through for us with a native release! :-D
And oh yes, I'd certainly oblige to a free copy if one was available! Count me in to the competition.

X4 Foundations, and EVE Online.
The new terran start for X4 with the Cradle of Humanity expansion is so great, it really helps players get into the world/game IMO.

I swear I did read the article, but for some reason it interpreted everything in regards to the mobile apps.
Well I guess I'm happy I have what I want now! :-D

Quoting: Liam DaweAhh crap I'm such a moron! hahaQuoting: edenistI really wish valve would release a steam-link program for linux. Not full blown steam, just a client that I can run on a lite-laptop that will stream from my big box. They did, it's the first link in the article and mentioned in the first sentence.
Didn't they release a version for armv6/raspian at some stage?

Does anyone have any insight as to why they went with DX12 instead of Vulkan? It's a game [and engine] which was originally developed for PS4 only so it's not like they would have used DX to begin with.
Is the PS4 low-level graphics API more like DX12 than vulkan? Or is it just down to developer preference/experience?
I dunno, seems like a missed opportunity to me and my uneducated self ;-)
