Definitely support this post!
Note that F@H have received something like 6x their normal amount of volunteers requesting work from their project in the last week, so they are a little overwhelmed trying to scale up quickly to handle it.
If you notice idle time waiting for work units, I recommend also checking out rosetta@home, which runs on the BOINC platform. They do very similar work to folding@home, and also have lots of work units modelling SARS-COV-2 proteins looking for possible treatments.

R@H is a CPU only project, so I generally have them running for my CPUs, and have folding@home configured to only use my GPU.
Either way, it's great to see the community get behind these projects!

It was merely a comment on the reach of tencent, which goes beyond what most people likely appreciate on the surface level of the companies they buy from.
Your incredibly defensive stance and aggressive [shall I put you down as pro-authoritarian then?] political shouts, combined with your personal avatar suggest you are politicising things unnecessarily, and have an agenda yourself.

Quoting: GuestWhat did I say which had anything to do with being antisocialist? Or pro-[insert anything political here]?Quoting: edenistAnd Tencent is a platinum member of the Linux Foundation, has his own Linux distro (https://cloud.tencent.com/document/product/213/38027) and QQ for Linux (https://im.qq.com/linuxqq/index.html), China is LITERALLY forbidding Windows and OS X computers in the administration, step by step, stop your antisocialist bullshit ffs.Quoting: GuestIt's Epic Games, not Tencent, Tencent have 40% of Epic Games.Your fooling yourself if you don't understand how big of a string they can pull. All of this BS with epic games started after the tencent money started flowing in.
Quoting: GuestAre you calling Riot Games, Supercell, Ubisoft and Activision 'Tencent' everytime too?Yes. Tencent owns Riot Games, and owns like 85% of Supercell, and is the second largest stakeholder of Ubisoft. You don't find it interesting watching the sheer number of companies tencent are reaching their hands into? Their influence cannot be overlooked.
It's Psyonix the ones who decided to sellout. But somehow they aren't being blammed for all of this lol.

I've been playing it the last couple of weeks and it's been really great to watch the highly regular updates roll in from the dev. It's incredibly fun to play as well. Highly recommend if you're after a slower-paced, realistic space game.

I've been keeping an eye on this title since it's first annouoncement. And I'm getting more and more excited each time. Think I might just take the plunge and grab the ringer versions off itch right now.
FYI @liamdawe, I believe the full name of the game is "Delta V: Rings of Saturn", where the are using the greek letter, Δ, denoting 'delta'.

I literally had finished assembling a new gaming PC, decided to go with 19.04 [tbf, it's actually incredibly nice to use]. I've used ubuntu on my gaming machines for years just due to the [usually] highest level of support.
But enough is enough. Not only the latest debacle, but I've actually never had a release-upgrade ever work properly, so I always stuck to LTS releases, which get *really* long in the tooth well before they go EoL. So I've now just wiped by near fresh 19.04 and installed Solus. And it's fantastic. Really great integrations for gamers right out of the box. Think I've found a new home for a while.

Quoting: ajgpIt going to be interesting seeing how the Ubuntu 32bit debacle is going to affect the next round of PC stats here on GOL (provided everyone updates their PC info), how big is the hit to ubuntu going to be and where have been the big winners from this migration.Chalk me up as adding to those stats!

Raspberry Pi 4 announced and available - sounds like a pretty nice upgrade, Raspbian now based on Debian 10

... no mainline support really irks me. It just seems like them keeping the keys way too close to their chest, and support ultimately is in their hands with kernel release being entirely up to their internal processes.
It's these things which keep me happy with my choice of the La Frite from Libre computer. All of their systems have support pushed upstream, they have u-boot/UEFI and also eMMC storage. A much more robust SBC in my opinion.

Quoting: Xakep_SDK> No mainline supportYeah this is one of a couple of things which really have me torn over raspis. I have a couple, and they are great, but I have to keep in mind they are designed for education purposes. The SD card primary storage just doesn't cut it as any sort of production system. USB storage is an option now I suppose, and just keep a read-only boot partition on the SD card, but....
Thanks, no.

The dev of "Marble It Up!" had intriguing words to say about the native vs Steam Play argument for a Linux version

The closest I've seen is something like Stellaris, where basically they checkout each major version of the game and apply it as a beta branch so you can lock it in or change which version of the game you play. This is mainly for save-game compatibility which usually breaks between versions, but still it's a great idea and I wish more devs did it.

if a game update breaks the Linux versionThis is one thing which always annoys me about steam [and any game distribution system, really] and it doesn't just apply to Linux. But why on earth don't they give you the ability to roll-back versions?

Looks very promising. Reminds me of the game "Never Alone" in a sci-fi setting.

Quoting: KristianThis sucks, but unlike what an earlier comment said Epic is NOT publucally traded. They aren't, but tencent [who owns 40% of epic] is, and they are also the ones helping bankroll of these purchases. Everyone things epic can't sustain such spending, yet I imagine tencent can.
