Quoting: Arcadius-8606MMOs (specifically WoW) killed our LAN games... but that was many moons ago.Quoting: slaapliedjeI'll have to check again and report back about MP. I thought it was really the only thing missing on it (not that I actually like playing games multiplayer with strangers). They do have an amazing high score thing, though I felt like there were AI bots or something that held the top three for every single game....I don't play games online with strangers myself but I have a lot of friends and family that I play with and online MP is a must have these days since LAN gatherings were killed when the latest pandemic hit.

Quoting: CFWhitmanConsidering you can just slap in a m.2 SATA drive in it and boot into Linux with it, then yes it's very easy to set up Kodi and RetroArch. I haven't done so, as to me just plain ol' MAME with an nfs share for all the things, as MAME basically supports every platform (with varying success) at this point. May play with some launchers for that. I'm mostly just lazy with trying to figure out RetroArch and trying to configure my Atari Arcade stick (I got that fatty one that has two joysticks and a trackball). ha, one of these days I'll get that all set up...Quoting: PraxachNot sure if I will get one of these, since my main Linux PC will do everything this can (and probably better). I would probably pick one up for the HTPC aspect of it. Something that looks nice compared to other HTPC'sI was toying with the idea of picking one up and replacing the Raspberry Pi 3 I have in the living room with it. I imagine I could find a way to run Kodi and RetroArch/Emulation Station along with the other things it does. The Raspberry Pi 3 is pretty low power usage, though.

I've got Debian Bullseye on mine. Works perfectly fine, though I switched away from Wayland, as I ran into issues with some games. Hoping they've fixed up some issues with their store (like having a proper cart) I haven't looked in a while as I've been busy playing Valheim, Conan, or just messing with my Commodore 128...
Hoping to get back to playing Boulder Dash on it though, it's pretty sweet.
The Ouya never even seemed appealing to me, as 'Android gaming!' always seemed pretty garbage to me :P

Quoting: elmapulHa, yeah I don't get the 'let's put Windows on it!' considering who doesn't already have Windows 10 on something? Also having to buy another license for it...Quoting: dubigrasuI don't have the hardware itself, but I do have the OS (it was uploaded by some Youtuber > and promptly taken down afterwards) and I must say that is pretty neat.worse than that, some people are already installing windows on it to get acess to more games.
It recognized most of my controller and got into some games right away. It has that retro feel look and sound overall and I can see why nostalgic gamers might love it.
What it needs is more games and a bigger user-base, hopefully the the actual launch will help. It would be sad to see it transform into another Ouya.
if most people do that, then supporting it will be useless to increase our marketshare

Fractal Design just makes VERY nice cases. It's what all my future builds will use, I think. I used to do Antec, but they've seemingly have gotten worse lately.

Quoting: Liam DaweUpdate:I was looking again at getting an AmigaOne x5000 with that snazzy Fractal Design case... https://www.amiga-shop.net/en/Amiga-Hardware/New-Amiga-Computers/AmigaONE-X5000-complete-system::790.html [External Link]
Quoting: EntrowareThe chassis that we use for the Poseidon is the Fractal Design FD-CA-DEF-C-BK. With regards to the PSU, as this will vary between different Corsair, EVGA, and Cooler Master units depending on what we stock at that time, we do not provide specific models.

Though you can feel the latency on some games (like Metal Slug) but I could play Burgertime and such quite well! They have lots of games from arcade to Amiga, etc.Did they ever add MP to that? The big deal is MP with retro games. Also Metal Slug 1 was SLOW even on the original MVS cab. It's the most unpolished game of the series. Source: Owned and original MVS cab with it and 3 other games from the 90's.

Quoting: Luke_NukemYeah, this is a horse shit patent. Joysticks / controllers have had buttons on the back / bottom, all over the place for years.Quoting: GuestWell geez. Sorry my sense of time is skewed, I'm old. I was at least 12 years or more, and not Corsair or Ironburg Inventions branded afaik unless the company that made it was bought.Quoting: Luke_NukemGeez. I know with absolute certainty that a decade or so ago I had a controller with back buttons like this. No idea if I've still got it, might look for it. Something like a gioteck maybe? The patent is from 2011. Geez.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceFor sure! Ha, then if Hyperion released AmigaOS4 for Power9.... that would be scary fast, as ut runs decent on a 420mhz 603e...Quoting: slaapliedjeI seriously would love a Power9 system, they are just a but too expensive for my tastes...I completly agree about the cost of Power9 being out of most peoples budgets (incuding my own) but at the end of the day if I want off of this x86 closed source vulnerability ride that never ends then I can go with Power9 or RISC-V. I plan to do both eventually. Won't be any time soon but as soon as I can save up the $5000 i'll need then i'd buy a Talos II from Raptor in an instant. It will be easier to get a HiFive Unmatched to get a RISC-V system going as that will only cost me $1000.
I have a Fractal Design Define R6. Love the case, best I have ever owned!

Quoting: TangoBakerBlade & Sorcery really needs a full game. It's pretty freaking epic.Quoting: slaapliedjeAlso a Star Wars game where you can force choke the shit out of Storm Troopers and drop them off ledges. :)Not sure about force choking but it sounds like you're looking for "Blade & Sorcery" + "The Outer Rim" mod. At this point B&S is basically just a sandbox with a bit of the ol' ultra-violence thrown in but if you like VR and the idea of working out your aggression with the aid of pointy objects, I highly recommend it. Mix in the outer rim for that star wars feel and I think you'll like it. It runs through Proton and mods are simple to install.
