Quoting: AnzaI like pissing off the Stone Golems so they break rocks for me :)Quoting: slaapliedjeTook a while, but we figured out that the Trolls don't like being shot in the belly! Does extra damage there. Now with the Draugr Fang, even with normal arrows, I take down a Troll in 3 or 4 shots to the gut.Regular trolls are relatively weak with decent enough gear, so I just hit them few times with an atgeir. Wouldn't be able to reach higher than gut though...
They also stagger if you shoot them in the head, which gives you moment to get some distance or deal some extra damage.
Trolls have their uses though, so it's better not to kill them right away. Chopping down trees is the usual side effect if they chase you in the forest, but even more useful is to use them as mining helpers. Just stand on top of ore, wait until troll is ready to strike and sprint away before it hits. Repeat until you have more ore than you can carry.
For getting rid of trees, later in the game lox are better than trolls. As they charge towards whatever is pestering them, trees are common collateral damage. Better to tame or kill them if they spawn close to your base...

Once you get up in gear, you end up just going on a punching spree, just for amusement.what are you hoping for in the next content updateI'd like more challenging mobs. Not necessarily more aggressive, there's a lot to be said for the long peaceful interludes, but when a mob or a gang of mobs decides I'm the bad guy I'd like to be frightened. "Find your A game or get killed" s/b a thing. And a mass assault on your base should be terrifying.
But the mob damage is not really the problem, at least when it comes to trolls. For large parts of the game, their damage is frightening. Can easily kill you in one or two hits.
Especially in combination with shaman poisons.
However, it is relatively easy to just run away from them and pelt them with arrows.
What is frightening is the enemies not actually going for you, but for your cart/boat/etc. I think that could be emphasized a bit more - make them go for your stuff more often while you are out adventuring. And announce it, of course, so you actually have a chance to react and not just find your ship smashed when you come back.

Quoting: CanadianBlueBeerA way to get rid of unwanted items more easily would be nice indeed. One of the mods we have enabled will let you pick up an item and delete it out of your inventory. It's quite nice!
(right now, it's load up the boat, sail into ocean and dump it. hmm, that's prolly why the sea serpent
wants to eat my boat. Littering!) :P

I would love Daggerfall sized dungeons that I can get lost in, now...

Quoting: BotonoskiThe current implementation of terrain editing seems to be a fairly basic heightmap sort of thing, I have this vague hope that maybe they'll replace that implementation with something voxel based, as my desire to build underground viking dungeons is immense. What I find interesting is that there seemed initially to be a set number of abandoned building configurations. But as I have explored more, I keep coming upon new ones, like the circular tower with a basement, then I found a more complete version of that with an entrance to the lower level and a square off the side for it.
I have no expectations that this'll ever happen, I imagine it'd require a huge upheaval of the underlying systems in place, but a man can dream, frankly it's a saving grace that this game has terrain editing at all as so many in the genre do not.

Quoting: einherjarI used this for a while, though I was getting some graphical glitches, so I turned it back off. Also didn't like the Troll skins.Quoting: AkonadySo what really is the graphics about in this game?Looks much better with this mod IMHO:

Quoting: TheSHEEEPMy favorite feature of the Sacred games (at least one and two) was that you could set in the options to ignore anything less than a specific color of item. Even if something like 'don't pick up stone while mining Silver Ore' would be a nice convenience.Quoting: NezchanI would say that the lack of recipes for items you get a lot of (troll hide, bone fragments, maybe something to do with tree seeds?) is probably my biggest issue with the game. You end up just throwing away a lot of material, and that doesn't feel good. So having things you can make with all these extra bits that you quickly outgrow the need for would be nice.I'd settle for being able to throw things you don't need into a furnace as fuel or something similar.
It's not realistic to expect all items to remain useful throughout - no survival game has that, really.
A filter to not automatically pick some things up would also help.
My partner and me often end up picking up what the other person has just thrown away

Actually I loved the climbing mechanic in Conan Exiles. It's a shame that game didn't get anywhere near the sales this one did. Conan Exiles was a blast, though if they had a random map generating mode, it'd have gone a long way to make it more fun. I also loved that Conan had a story line to it, but it was one you actually had to play through the game to pick up on it, and a proper ending to it as well.
Valheim, as it stands right now, definitely could use some more recipes for stuff. We have tons and tons of bone fragments, for example, with not much to make with it. There should be bone armor or something!

Quoting: DebianUserI wish it had a climbing mechanic like BOTW.Quoting: slaapliedjeOh! it's seems they have a monster powered PS1, or they just forgot about PS1 graphics ! :grin:Quoting: AkonadySo what really is the graphics about in this game? They wanted to go for the look of a PS1 game, from my understanding.
I've only seen one Draugr that was stuck in stone, but fortunately he was not an archer. When I returned to the area, he'd popped out of the rock, and was easily dispatched. Though we did beat Yagluth last night. Now our plan is to go through all the bosses a second time so we can hang their heads around our keep!

They are inspired by Zelda BOTW and PS1 graphics, the game is somewhere in the middle, with better light effects.

We beat down the final boss in Valheim last night, and I started Startcom: Nexus, which seems kind of interesting.
