Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Beast of Winter is now available, some thoughts

I am already using nVidia cards, so running Steam and dealing with their DRM isn't as abhorrent to me as it is to others. Personally I think when commercial companies are willing to support us with their closed source softwareit is more important that we support them back rather than complain. Would it be better if everything was open source? Most definitely. But even AMD and Intel have firmware blobs.

Quoting: GuestI was going to get Pathfinder: King Maker (I think from the looks of it I will like it as I really like Pillars) from GOG, but I don't want to wait on updates or run scripts manually, that just adds an extra bit of fun I don't want. Yeah I am getting lazy...This is about the only reason I don't buy more games on GOG. Though there are a few download managers for GOG, I am not sure how they handle updates.
As for Beast of Winter, I loaded up my Wizard save, but haven't really had a chance as I have been busy with the first one trying to finish the content with a Paladin.

Ha, I haven't even dedicated the time to complete the first game. I started it, just like I started Wasteland 2 and many other games that I haven't had a chance to complete....

Sorry for the bit off-topic, but I started the new Prey game last week. So far I liked the plot of the original better. Did the port of that get finished?
Total War: WARHAMMER II to release for Linux in 'early Autumn'

Could have sworn it was LEGO Worlds that did. Don't recall playing it on Windows, but it says I have 4.5 hours of play time. But the LEGO Minifigures Online one was on Linux, but it died a horrible death because they were basically charging for virtual Lego bricks.
Edit: Here is the thread where they were talking about support for the minifigures game on Linux.

But OpenMW is awesome, I need to finally complete the two expansions. I was able to complete the main game back in the day, but had lost my save by the time the expansions were released and never got around to playing them. I had heard they were hard as hell!

Quoting: AnanaceI think Morrowind was the first of their games with this engine and they have just improved upon it, yet gameplay between morrowind and all the follow up games are so very different. They kept simplifying game play mechanics. It is a shame the remasters of Daggerfall haven't happened. That is the largest elder scrolls game so far.Quoting: GuestI decided to install it via flatpak. I was happy when I found out it was the newest version. I hope they keep it up to date.I certainly have no plans on ceasing maintaining it. :)
That being said, it seems like we lost an appdata xml update in the process, so the flathub page incorrectly states that it's still 0.43.0
Quoting: GuestNot the same engine, but an upgraded version of it, yes. Theoretically, after they complete 1.0, they could decide to upgrade their project to support other Bethesda games like Oblivion, Skyrim, or the Fallouts. There's a thread on the forum [External Link] that started back on the Ogre version, it's basically a proof-of-concept of loading Oblivion / Skyrim / Fallout content in OpenMW, so certainly far from an impossible thing to do.

I was always hoping we'd get a remaster of Forsaken! Bought it as soon as I saw it! Also ended up getting the Turok Bundle.

Quoting: EikeWhile that wouldn't matter for Debian 9 anyhow (since Debian isn't going to remove Qt4 from Stretch, but future releases) it looks like the current packages for openmw in Debian are dependent on libqt5.Quoting: GuestI'm just curious why it hasn't been backported to Debian 9. I'm kinda surprised by that. The article says it depends on QT4, but that is being removed from Debian [External Link]. So as long as OpenMW doesn't switch, I wouldn't expect it to be contained in Debian anymore.
