So I was reading up on that and in the threads they said that initially for sure it'd be Windows Only. That they literally would have to re-write the entire toolset. Seemed I had found a different thread that seemed like they know we want a port, and they might consider doing one later. If you are somehow repeatedly not able to stop playing when your battery reaches X percent, then this would indeed be a big difference for you.

Ha, I do that all the time on my PS4, slap the controller on the charging dock, grab the second controller, continue playing.

Hi, welcome to the Internet. On the one hand you do have a lot of 'journalists' that just copy and paste each other. On the other hand you have assholes who point that out. Now normally when there is serious news going on and a journalist or groups of them post the wrong information because they all copied from someone who didn't check their sources, then you have tech blogs who pretty much just copy from each other, that's just the way it works.

I must confess I had tons of fun time with my atari lynx. In the train, at work, at home. Even my girlfriend was playing crystal mines II. That was actually the last real game she played.

I think the atari lynx is a tad bigger than the S-MACH Z.
Anyway, would be cool to play those games on the S-MACH Z, upscale from 160x160 roughly to 10x bigger 8-D.

I'm the proud owner of two Atari Lynx's and two SD Lynx Carts. :) Brilliant machine for the time, too bad it had poor battery life and Atari wasn't able to market it very well and get developers on board...

If you don't intend to carry something around in order to whip it out and play on it, you wouldn't be interested in this product at all - or any other mobile gaming product.

Why would you? The whole point is to have a Linux handheld computer. What it can run is already secondary ;)

I'm gonna be that guy who's gonna say that you can already have a "Linux" handheld if you mount a controller on an Android smartphone. There's actually quite a few good games (in a sea of otherwise terrible and insulting ones) like Crashlands, Don't Starve, GTAs, Meltdown, many others.

(since this morning I've already had various discussions on how crappy some things are, so I may as well throw one in here..)

This is the equivalent of wading through a pool filled with diarrhea in an attempt to find a few solid pieces of turd. Most of the controllers that hold your phone are pretty terrible, and a huge majority of android games don't even have proper controller support. I use my cell phone mostly for calls, email and web browsing. Anytime I start gaming on it, I get bored real quick or frustrated due to my fingers being in the way of the screen, and who's going to carry around a controller just for whipping out at random times to play on a smart phone?

Okay, I'll end my rant. :P

This is a form that Valve should work on. I think the problem is, and probably always will be is the hardware that can be small enough to be capable enough of what we want it to do (max settings, high frame rates) for modern PC games. I mean we can't even get the console versions of PC games to have the same level of detail at the same frame rates. But then again most gaming PCs are like 3-4 times the price of a console.

Not sure why they wouldn't just throw SteamOS on it. If I recall the earlier articles said that would be the case (at least if you chose the Linux option).
